Someone bought me the board game Kings Cribbage and it is really a hoot for anyone who plays cribbage. A bit of a twist between cribbage and scrabble. Makes you think a little more. What new board games have you played or what are your favourite ones?
i haven't played any board games recently, let alone new ones. as far as favorites, i guess chess is probably as good as it gets. checkers is fun too. and monopoly's alright. i can't even think of another board game that i've played that involves more strategy than rolling a pair of dice and hoping for the best.
I played a game on family vacation last year that was really fun. I can't remember the name of it but one person drew a card that asked a question and everyone wrote down their answer anonymously then the person that drew the card had to guess who answered what. I can't remember how the board was used, I think you got to move ahead a certain number of spaces for every person you guessed correctly. My family actually really bonded and learned more about each other during the game.
i forgot about risk, that is a good one. i barely remember candyland, but my recollection of it is that it's completely roll-of-the-die based. also, trivial pursuit is technically a board game, and any trivia game is pretty fun.
candy land one was a joke, but if u want a good strategy based board game look into catan. its really addicting, has all the strategy of risk, but the games only take anywhere from 30mins to an hour and a half.
Goood morning, look who's back . It's good to read you here again. Well, I guess I like Mensch aergere Dich nicht, everything else is too complicated for me . Just roll the dice and kick the other player's game pieces. Regards Gyro
Yes, nice to see you around. I remember playing one called "pigs". You rolled these little rubber pigs and depending on how they landed you got points. The best was if they landed one on top of the other, that is called "makin' bacon" and is worth a good amount of points, as it should be.
i love Risk and Clue a lot. PICTIONARY is my favorite. i really LOVE board games a huge amount. i love to bullshit, and talk smack, and be real silly when i'm playing board games!! i was in Chess club and Go club for a long long time, i like them a lot
I used to love playing Chinese Checkers. I even got a nice wooden board one year. It has been a long time since I got it out to play. I used to play scrabble with some friends who moved away but my problem with that game is that I am spelling challenged. I look at the letters and all I can come up with are the or an.
I have a long list of board games, but one of my favorites is Speed Circuit. This game has gone through several phases and I think was last produced by Avalon Hill, I did have the original 3M version for awhile. I checked the Avalon Hill version out on the net and was shocked to see it's going for $117.00 now! Used. Second pictures is a staged spin out in a ten person race. It's like poker on wheels.
Well since everybody's naming old ones already, I like board games too but have not played anythng too new. Stratego is awesome but haven't played it in years, we are planning on doing a risk game sometime soon with more than 5 people Otherwise I really only play chess (always against the same opponent, my other friends don't play chess... ) and a game called Machiavelli in my country but in english countries it's called Citadels, I definately recommend it if you dig board games like Settlers of Catan.
Candyland Monopoly Chutes and ladders (Hasbro) Battleship Chess Stratego (my all-time favorite) Hotwater
Yea battleship was badass. Used to play that all the time with a cusion. I still enjoy chess. I don't think i have ever finished a legit game of monopoly...
