I unfortunatley missed this interview that I have been waiting all week for..... can somebody be so kind as to maybe give me some of the major points covered in the interview....some of the things talked about....anything you can remember. I will be grateful
I sure hope someone has something nice to say. I have NEVER been a fan of his music. He seemed lethargic and drugged or burned out. He was not responsive about anything and when he was asked about the music he had written and whether he would/could write like that again he just seemed to have a flat affect. Wish I could be more positive or surprisingly upbeat about it.
I also missed it, i never knew when 60 minutes was on, and at what time. However i did see the simpson episode this week that paradized the interview. From that, it seemed like he was burned out and mumbled alot.
I saw the last 10 minutes of the interview. He seemed very tired or burned and very negative. I really like his music, but I didn't like his attitude last night. The interview was almost boring
He wasn't really all that negative--that's his personality, he never gives the answers people expect, or in that manner may not even answer questions. For his life he hasn't liked to be in the public eye. As for saying he couldn't write songs like he had done in the past was something he was truthful about, but not in a pessimstic way--he merely acknowledged that it seemed to be magical how he could write such songs, and that he wouldn't be able to now.
well, compared to the interview clips that was shown that he did when he was younger- he at least seemed like he wanted to be there. I mean, last night it was like he didn't want to do the interview at all. If that was the case then he shouldn't have done it plain and simple. No one wants to watch Bob Dylan sit there and act like the interview is torture and he has 100 things better to do. (I'm sure he does but he could have out a little heart in it) I guess all I'm saying is that if he hates being in the public eye and hates interviews, he didn't have to do it. No one was begging him to sit there and be annoyed. I felt like I was pissing him off just watching it. I don't know, I just recall a book coming out recently that says just about everything he would need to say to the public. I'm not sure what the interview was FOR exactly you know? If anybody understands more, please enlighten me.
How do you know exactly if nobody is just forcing him to do this interviews? He's publisher could've forced him to do the interview. He did have a new book out, you know. They could've forced him to do it for publicity purposes. Maybe that's the reason why Bob was a bit annoyed by the whole thing.
We can appreciate that for a time, the efforts of one affected many. To appreciate and respect an artist, I believe, is to recognize that musicians share their light, and to connect with it is not somethig to hold the artist accountable for unitl their dying day. Aka--- people change, and we can be grateful for the times that we run parallel, and not insist that the connection remain as it once had. Like Dylan said, those songs were magical, as were the times from which they arose. that time was unique, so love it for when it was and the connection made. Move on. Be here now.
I didn't see the 60 Minutes interview, but Dylan was pretty obnoxious in the 1960s documentary Don't Look Back. He's a genius, but he seems to know it, which is very irritating.
