I think im in love with Bob Marley. Not like in love in love but im so interested in this guy. He was amazing and i would like to have a discussion about him or something. So im making this the Bob Marley thread.

Oh, alright. Well i like him for his music, and cause he smokes and hes an amazing person.

 

i like him because his music actually had effects on people... he was a visionary.. wish he was still around today...

 

I really don't like Bob Marley's music all that much. just too generic and populist for my taste. most of the reggae I like is dub, though, so maybe it's my problem.

 

Yes i also wish he was still alive. I would give anything to meet him. Also, you can like him for things other than his music.

Not only that but he smoked weed anf was for it 100%. Im willingto meet anyone with the same interests as me.

 

Yes im going to visit Bobs Pillow and smoke a joint on there. One day in my life i will take a full tour of where he grew up.

 

lemme repost my feelings on bob marley.. i love bob marley.. i loved what he did for his people... and i love his music... yes... he smoked marijuana but thats not the only fuckin thing he did and well i hate people who only associate marley with marijuana

 

I dontonly associate him with marijuana. I love his music, his personality, where he grew up, everything hes been through, basically everything hes done i like about him.

 

christ, you don't have to take it so personally. I don't hate his music, it's just that there are a billion white kids everywhere with Marley t-shirts and posters, the guys face has been commodified and become another marketing tool for babylon. and that's fine! I have no problem with anyone being a Bob Marley fan or buying Bob Marley products, but most people who do don't bother to check out the wide world of reggae, which Marley occupied only a very small part of.

 

really? you liked where he lived? whats the glamour in a 3rd world country? have you seen the house he grew up in? yea.. its like a 2 room shack with a single bed in one room... there is nothing "great" about most of jamacia unless you are on a private beach where you're not being bugged by every other person asking you if you want something... lets not even get involved in the crime level... oh wait.. thats right.. marijuana is in jamacia.. so jamacia is a great place to live...

No, i like him because he grew up in a rough part of Jamacia but adapted with it and accepted where he was from and shit. Chill out dude.

 

too bad a lot of it is dancehall and well personally i cant really stand dancehall...
