name some books that seemed to be required by "every" high school. only name books that you yourself read in hs the old man and the sea the catcher in the rye the pearl
I don't see the point of this thread, I can simply list pretty much all of the books that are usually read in high school, but I do not know what that will achieve.
The illustrated man by Ray Bradbury Of Mice and Men by Steinbeck Slaughter house 5.. dont remember who the author is.. Grisham? the bell jar some shakespeare
Farenheit 451(Decent) Brave new world(Shitty version of 1984) Diary of miss jane pittman (shittiest book ever a fucking 2 year old has better vocabulary.) Walden pond (loved it) Books I was already reading. Nietzsche, plato, Russell, Hume, Mill, Tolstoy, Nobakov etc..
Good thing I went to a private middle school. I had already read steinbeck, hemingway, shakepeare etcc.
my teacher was so obsessed with that story that she read the whole book aloud to us. then when we watched the movie she started bawling when the big guy died. really awkward
I went to public school in Florida in the 70s so we really never got past "The Pigeon Finds A Hotdog" But I read Orwell and Hershey and I think my favorite was Carson McCullers' "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter".
