fuck artificial sweeteners, sugar was always tastier anyway

its unfortunate that the companies putting out these products will continue to do so. chances are they've known for a while about this, but you can't just sacrifice a product when theres still money to be made can you?

Critical thinking skills? Its unnatural to eat unnatural foods, such as genetically modified foods. Natural is healthier than unnatural (which most likely is unhealthy). Therefore Its better to eat natural foods and stay away from something unnatural.

Just because the FDA says something is so, doesn't make it so. There have been situations where the FDA approves the use of something, such as a drug, then thousands of people start experiencing extremely adverse effects and even dying, and then the drug is banned. Also, members of the FDA are influenced by lobbyists from companies. It's a wonder how many of the things the FDA approves get approved in the first place and are continued to be approved.

In the case of aspartame the FDA originally approved aspartame, but then that approval was retracted following studies linking it to adverse health effects. Aspartame approval was denied for over 8 years until the newly appointed FDA commissioner Arthur Hull Hayes overruled the final scientific review panel, approved aspartame, and then went to work for G.D. Searle's (initial owner of aspartame) public relations firm (interesting coincidence).

There has been many many complaints by the public in regards to side effects of aspartame. There are also doctors and nutrionalists recommending people stay away from aspartame. Obviously there is cause for concern. If there was as much money being thrown at research attempting to find the danger in aspartame, as there is in confirming the safety of it, then it would soon be officially dangerous

Im sorry, but are you saying that I'm lacking "critical skills" because I don't ignore the publics complaints over the side effects of aspartame, nor for not ignoring doctors and nutrionalists that state that aspartame is dangerous?

Am I lacking critical thinking skills because I don't entirely trust an organization whose decisions can be easily influenced by outside sources (such as through "charitable contributions"), or whose ignorance, neglect, and greed have cost the lives of countless people?

Am I lacking critical thinking skills because I think its better for people to eat whats natural to them; what we have evolved eating over the course of eons, instead of eating food created in lab that is new to people and essentially untested?

Feel free to point out the flaws of my critical thinking skills.

I don't have to do much to know that aspartame is very bad for me all I have to do is accidentally ingested it and chances are I will need to go to the hospital. The number of aspartame related deaths are probably not known but everyone going to the emergency room with heart related trouble or a stroke ought to be asked when was the last time they consumed aspartame or a diet soda or sugar free gum. Athletes ought never use it. There is a link to heart attacks in youth who participate in athletic events who have consumed aspartame.

Here is a video on splenda note my comments I am "Lisafrequency"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liU0SVvU8zg"]YouTube- Splenda was born as an insecticide!! Use stevia instead!

I avoid artificial sweeteners about 90%. the only artificial sweetener I can think of that I consume would be in my Arizona Diet Green Tea. Hasn't affected me negatively, I just use sparingly. My boyfriend is on a diet and its a great substitute for when you still want sweet things. Yeah, I'm sure its not the healthiest because its artificial, but I hardly think its deadly. I know plenty of people who practically drink the stuff and I've yet to see any adverse affects...
