do you think we old hippies should boycott jamie lynn speers' show "zoey 101" for setting a bad example by her getting preggers or do you think we should support her and watch her show because she is promoting free love? i'm sitting on the fence so far
In truth,I for one never heard of her till I saw a blurb on the news.When I watch tv,I watch history,science,tlc,natgeo,etc.The mind am a terrible thing to waste. -homebudz
Boycott the show? This is the HIPPIE forum. I thought we would be more understanding of things like this happening. The media is making a big deal out of it when its no big deal. So what she got pregnant. Imagine how many other people in her position would have just got an abortion so nobody would even know about it and her career could go on like nothing happened (and many older than her would do the same too). I do not understand faulting her, its not like shes the only 16 year old having sex. Plus she decided to keep the baby... I think thats honorable. Honestly, if family channel fired her over it. I would boycott the family channel. However I doubt they have the right to fire her. Sorry im not an old hippie. I did not relize this is off limits for me sorry guys.
you make some excellent points plus maybe if the hippies support her in this hour of need, she could do some hippy promo on her show to get the younger generation into hippy values. maybe some things some older hippies like eric clapton or joni mitchell or jimmy page or joan baez or bob dylan could do some p.r. plugs saying how they are supporting jamie lynn speers through this crisis and then she would be really thankful and then do some pro-hippy stuff like planting some trees in a deforested area, waving peace flags but saying they also honor the troops but war isn't the answer. i don't think the public would understand if jamie lynn and her friends were smoking doobies but maybe they could wear clothes made out of hemp fibered fabrics. in this way it would be a win win situation and the public and the next generation would embrace hippy values and then everybody would love everybody
