this is such bullshit. there are so many damn things that have happened to me b/c of wearing tie dye. look at this list of things (i was wearing tie dye when all these occured...) 1) me and my friend (who is black) walk into a party where there are parents... as soon as we walk in we are followed for the first 15 min. Finally i turn around and say "y are u following us" then he pulls us around and searches me and my friend. He wouldnt say y he did it. (btw he found nothign) 2) im walking on the side of the road and a guy drives by throwing two lit cigs at me 3) walking on the side of the road and i was shot by someone driving by with a bb gun 4) again walking along the road and someone pulls out a paintball gun and shoots me with it 5) walking on the side of the road and some bastard swerves his car so close to me that i had to jump into the ditch off the road i walk along that road all the time and none of that bullshit ever occurs when im not wearing tie dye... wat pricks
hey man, did you go to dancin in the district last thursday? just wondrin since youre from nashville... when i wear tie dye stuff, i can walk in to a room and people clutch their purses and star mean muggin me... maybe it is just me though, happens when im not wearin tie dye too
no i dont think its coincidence... now yes some of it may be that the ppl are pricks to begin with, but the bad stuff happens exculsivly when i wear tie dye. I think the pricks just pick me out cause im wearing somethign that sticks out/different and that makes me an attractive target.
I wear my dyes and I get compliments. I even wear them at meetings (I'm a reporter) so that I stand out. I hear some people explaining me , "Oh, that's Robyn over there in the tie dye with the red hair." I get the "hairy eyeball" so little these days. Guess the yuppies have gotten used to me.
whenever i wear ty dye, older people look at my suspiciously, but hey, i do smoke, so their suspicions are correct
First try not to walk that road when your wearing tiedye./If it hurts when you bang your head against the wall don't. Secondly look at the bright side, long before tyedye was around I realized as a male with long hair in the South that having long hair gave me an excellent idiot/bigot/asshole detecter.
Whenever I used to wear my dyes at school, people would stand with me in the halls and talk about drugs with me. haha One time, this guy came up to me and real loud yelled down the hall "Man! This guy's a REAL hippie, man! FAR OUT!" It made me laugh.
maybe someone put a sign on your back that siad, "I hate smokers, recreational weapons, and bad drivers" ?
Good one! Anyway, maybe a lot of it is in peoples heads. Kind of like a preconceived notion of what others are thinking that manifests itself in the actual reaction from the other people. I tend to think that people in general are pretty cool and that the majority will think tye dye is cool, so maybe I act more confident and personable when I wear my tye dye as opposed to someone who thinks everyone is negatively judging them so they act more reclusive and distant, thus giving people the impression that they are "weirdos" fo lack of a better word. I occaisionally wear tye dyes to meetings and such. Many people probably think it is pretty "out there" but rarely do I feel judged negatively. In fact I think some (really cool) people are a bit jealous thinking that they wish they had more "balls" to wear it. It's weird to me, why anyone would get that bent out of shape over a simple dye pattern on a cotton shirt. I mean, come on, I think people are overacting about the tye dye image. It's not like you are walking around with a snake around your neck or something. Tye dye is actually pretty common.
it sounds like you live in a bad neighborhood. I t also might be that you look more like a hippy in tie dye. When you were something else you might look more like a punker or something. Everyone knows how many people feel about hippies. So mabye its not the tie dye its your look put together?
all that over a style of shirt?,i'd hate to see how they would react to something more serious than that...
