I cant get over how many people are talking about Bush's "lowest ever" approval ratings. The truth is, his approval ratings do not mean a thing. I was not polled on my opinion. Nor were many other pro-Bush citizens I know. Even though we're not happy with his stance on the border issue, the polls still dont represent everyone who back him. If the polls aren't really accurate, then why are they brought up again and again by the media?
Because they are accurate. No one said everyone dislikes the job bush is doing, Just that the majority dislike the job he's doing. You and your buddies are in the minority.
Actually even though I'd say it's pretty obvious to see just among general opinion that the polls are true, I'd say really most polls aren't that accurate, each one is usually about 1-2,000 people, out of almost, 300 million in the country.
Do you even know how these polls are conducted? They are conducted in a way that gives a very accurate sampling of the nation in general. Just because they don't poll 300 million, doesn't mean that they aren't pretty accurate.
They can be conducted however they want, if the media wants Bush to look bad, then they can poll a liberal part of the country.
By calling 1,000 random people across the country? That's not exactly what I'd call a general consensus.
I think we are also forgetting that what is popular is not always the best thing. (as in it was popular and accepted at one time in this country to treat black humans like absolute trash) Personally I think the polls are accurate (I can't stand Bush. No, I wasn't polled, either.) I am glad his approval ratings are so low. He is a bumbling moron and I really *really* hope the rest of the world knows we aren't all in support of him. He is not what a president should be. He should also take an English course or two.
Well, I have a degree in political science and we studied in depth how these polls are conducted. The polling agencies that are neutral politically and that are scientific in the way that they conduct polls actually produce results that are very accurate, with a typical sampling of about 1500-2000 people. There's no reason to think that these aren't accurate. I definitely agree that Bush needs to go back and take some remedial English courses-Justwow just can't imagine that his wise leader isn't so popular. For all the right-wing "Christians" that support Bush, remember what the Bible says, "what a man sows, so shall he reap" and "he that lives by the sword shall perish by it" "what you've done to the least of these, you've done unto ME" Bush is just reaping what he sowed. I'd sure hate to be in his shoes when he meets the Guy Upstairs-he sure has a lot of innocent lives he's responsible for!
Oh, so it's the ol' "liberal media" arguement again, is it? Does that now include FoxNews? http://www.pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm they can't all be biased.
Yeah FoxNews...conservative media...even reported Bush's approval rating to be 41%...and that's on the HIGH end. The guy is a douchebag and people are figuring that out now, FINALLY. Cheneys' approval rating, I heard on talk radio the other day, was down to 15%...LOL
I certainly HOPE people are finally figuring that out. Cheney should have shot himself instead of his buddy-we couldn't get that lucky. I don't get all this 'liberal media' stuff-WHAT liberal media? Would someone enlighten me as to what media in this country could really be legitimately characterized as 'liberal'?
Pardon my ignorance, but who are they? I used to work for Pacifica about ten zillion years ago, although it's changed a lot-I don't think they could be characterized as being 'conservative', by any means-but they don't really have that much widespread coverage.
The fact remains that I was never polled. When you take into account how many other Bush-backers havn't been polled either, who the hell knows what Bush's overall rating is.
