Well, here I thought that I was finally going to get a project finished without having trouble with the sewing machine, but I've forgotten that there's a conspiracy against me. Damn things always manage to find new and inventive ways of jamming up when I 'm around them!!!!!!!!! (which explains why I can sew by hand so well;) )

The newest problem: My bobbin thred will work just wonderfully for a little while and then (dum dum duuuummmm) it seems to get stuck and then it will send out a whole bunch of thread all of a sudden. Sometimes, it will just stick, sometimes it will give me too much and sometimes it will do both. I've taken the machine apart 2 different times and nothing seems to be wrong with it. I've unwound most of the bobbin and re-wound it. I've cleaned out imaginary lint several times. I don't know what's the matter with it. It's a Kenmore; maybe 30 years old. My Mom's had it for 20 years and only uses it on and off.

    HELP!!!

Have you adjusted the tension... My old machine used to do things like that.. To fix it i would turn the tension all the way up... sew a few inches.. turn it all the way down sew a few inches and then turn it back to its proper position and it would sew fine....

Make sure that the top thread is still threaded. Sometimes the top thread that goes into the lever comes loose and that causes the bobbin to go crazy.
