Okay, my brother is twenty two right now, acouple years ago he couldnt drive and he couldn't walk straight and he walked really fast for no reason, including some other strange things. Yesterday he came into my room saying he saw in the history I was researching acid, and he said acouple years ago he did acid and it was his first and last time. He said thats the reason he couldn't drive and couldnt walk straight, he said he is still screwed up and can't get some of the images he saw out of his mind from the experience and that I should not do it. I asked him what exactly happened on it and he said he ended up in the backseat of a car thinking he was going to die, he said that it made him feel like he was falling in a giant hole for hours and hours full speed and he said the visuals, he could tell they were fake but the drug fucked with his mind into thinking they were real. He then said whenever you see those weird people on the streets talking to themselves stumbling, its becuase they did acid and it screwed them up and he told me not to try it.

Can acid really screw you up like that if you have a bad trip? Is it really worth taking the risk? or did my brother just have one too many blotters?

if you don't understand what lsd is and does and aren't prepared for it, then perhaps it could screw you up. But what is occurring is the acid melts away your ego-identity to show you your naked soul. The ego-loss often feels like you're dying; it's all part of it; the feeling like you are falling forever through empty space is also part of it. All of what you described was there for a reason; the person you refer to simply was not ready to see his naked soul in a naked universe. These are all eternal themes that a person needs to approach with respect; if they are using lsd for a good time or to party, these revelations can be hard to cope with, and can produce longterm negative effects. This is the reason why experienced users discourage lsd as a fun time or party drug- it just isn't what the drug is about.

The freaky visuals-all those are are the universe exposing the ultimate end of the conceptual mind, and fixating on the visuals and trying to make sense of them leads to more confusion.

There's a lot to lsd that can't be understood quickly. People will even trip 200+ times and finally have one formative trip that makes them realize they didn't understand lsd like they thought they did.

If you are curious about lsd for your own use, don't treat it as something that you need to be lucky to enjoy. It's not like rolling the dice and maybe you'll trip well and maybe you'll trip poorly. When you understand what will take place and how to properly interpret it, lsd is an eternal teacher and will produce rapture that can be drawn upon at any time in life. lsd only shows you what is already there that the ego blocks from vision, those that are prepared humble themselves and the goodness of the universe flows through them.

Lsd is the gift that keeps on giving. Some people balk at the first gift-wrapped psychic package they receive, and miss the point.

Like burnabowl said, if you're not prepared for what it does and don't understand it, it may be that it could 'screw you up'...It can be scary if you're not ready for it...though I don't think it could have any effect on your motor skills...especially once the trip is over. Perhaps your brother had a really bad trip, and just didn't want you to try acid so he said some of that to scare you away from it.

Do some more reasearch if it is something you are considering trying. I'm not saying you should try it, but i wouldn't rule it out because of one persons bad experience.

Your brother only tried acid once...

Did he know anything about it before he took it?

Your doing research and asking around to learn about it. Your already gaining knowledge about acid. Some people try it with no information at all and it's not surprising that they have negative experiences. Hopefully you have done enough research to know a little about which things will happen and what things could happen. This will help you to decide if your ready to handle what may happen on acid.

I would say to do as much research until your comfortable to take a trip. I would recommend a trip partner or a sitter, preferably an individual you know well and trust fully. After you dose don't start panicking, pre-trip anxiety is common among a lot of users, even some of those long term users still feel pre-trip anxiety. Just try to relax and stay optimistic.

    Happy Tripping ;)

More more thing... excuse me for lack of sports knowledge if that may be what applies but...

Is use member name your actual name?
If so I would say that's a probably not the best idea.

You are either extremely naive or an outright liar. One, you can't smoke acid. Hell, if you lave it in your pocket too long, it'll start to degrade. Second, nobody's gonna lace pot. There is not a drug dealer on the face of the planet who's not gonna charge you for every drug you buy, especially with pot being so cheap. Your friend just doesn't want to face his real issues.

most everything bad you hear about lsd is a fabrication the .gov has spent millions of dollars to make sure you and the rest of the population believe. the only danger is if your mind is not ready..and that's up to you to know. it won't make you insane..it won't make your brain bleed..you won't be insane if you take 7 hits..and trust me..none of your friends has ever met anyone who thought they were a glass of orange juice while they were on it. i'm sorry your brother had a bad experience man.

  11. It's people like you who give LSD a bad name. Someone replied already with what I would typically say to you, but wow, stop pushing false information.

Though if you are schizophrenic already it's probably not a good idea.

...studied whether patients hospitalized for LSD psychosis are clinically separable from acute schizophrenics. The family histories, manifest symptoms, premorbid adjustment, and profiles on an extensive test battery were analyzed for 52 LSD psychotics and 29 matched first-break schizophrenics. The LSD patients did not differ from schizophrenics in incidence of psychosis or suicide among the parents. However, the rate of parental alcoholism for LSD psychotics far exceeded that for schizophrenics and the general population. The two groups were distinguished on some clinical features but were equivalent in premorbid adjustment, on most cognitive measures when initially hospitalized or reassessed three to five years later, and in number of subsequent rehospitalizations. Thus, in most respects the LSD psychotics were fundamentally similar to schizophrenics in geneaology, phenomenology, and course of illness. The findings supported a model of LSD psychosis as a drug-induced schizophreniform reaction in persons vulnerable to both substance abuse and psychosis

this is why LSD is not dangerous for everyone. only a portion of the people out there is vulnerable to both psychosis and substance abuse. its only shitty if you happen to be one of them and trip your balls off, than you're screwed. otherwise you just might have a tuff experience, but that's not the same as triggering a mental illness

    Acid can screw you up...FACT.

And it has nothing to do with "whether you let it or not" if you believe that your a retard. It's a chemical and how well you can control your mind on it has nothing to do with how it may affect your brain physiology.

It's a risk you have to consider.

Also, it's PROVEN that LSD brings triggers Schizophrenia in people with a history, so in a word, "yes", it can screw you up.
