Alright i have a question. I am currently in the proccess of finding a psychiatrist to prescribe me some sort of ADD medication for my depression, low energy, inabilty to concentrate, and other problems. I have already tried all the anti-depressants and they did nothing i really need some type of stimulant to help me get through my day being happy and having energy. I have no psychical problems its all just psychological but i cant snap out of it. How would I word it to the doc that SSRI's, wellbutrin, and all the others didn't work and that i need to try Ritalin or Adderall. I dont wanna sound sketchy, any advice would help. Oh yeah i already tried 5-HTP and right now im taking Rhodiola rosea but so far i cant tell if its helping.

Easy, I have A.D.D and got the chance to take Ritalin, years ago, lmao.. I hated it... It give you energy, but zones your mind out, makes you a zombie I think, and trust me, never hungry, has the WORST crash of any drug I ever done, you will want to sleep for days.. But, to get it tell your psychiatrist you feel you have A.D.D or A.D.H.D and they will have you do a test, very simple, just pretend you can't concentrate at all.. Hehe.. Hell, they even have free sample of Adderol where I went.. Lmao.

with ritalin, i don't know whether it would be prescribed for you or really help if it were (it made me even more depressed when i took it), but adderall is sometimes prescribed for treatment resistant depression. it sounds right for you, just tell the truth. say you're having a lot of trouble functioning, concentrating, getting anything done, even getting up in the morning, which is probably all true, right? you might get extended release first, and if that works for you, awesome, but if you don't like it and want instant release just say that it keeps you awake at night.

if they want you to try some other kind of antidepressant or drug that takes a few weeks to start working, say that you're afraid of the initial suicide risk, the risks coming off the drug, that you need something that will help sooner, and that you don't think you can concentrate well enough to take something at the same time every day, and don't want a drug that will have any bad consequences if you were to miss a few doses. good luck.
