So, I've only had indica before, but I'm probably going to be getting some sativa soon, so, can someone describe what it's like, and how different it is from indica? My friend says it's more "trippy, spacey, etc".

ya ur friends right, sativa is more of a trippy high more in your head. Unlike Indica which gives a nice body high. Sativa is some good shit so I am sure you will enjoy it!

i personally dont like the head high from sativa. makes me feel kinda drunk. but without the blurred vision. but if you let your muscles relax on sativa then its way more pleasurable than indica could ever be. but thats just my opinion

I hate sativa, I will not smoke it, and I refuse to, I always ask my guys if its sativa, and if it is, its not for me I freaked out way to bad, I can be a paranoid smoker, and if you are one, sativa is wrong for you, you will move alot, and feel like your on speed, at least that was my expierence

I prefer Sativa, a more giggly, cerebreal head high as opposed to tired out body stone. A better day time smoke and perfect wake n bake.

It's trippier and more psychedelic. You notice patterns more. I felt a tingling on my arm and thought I saw a spider on my arm and freaked out (briefly). I felt like I was walking through a 3 inch deep water puddle, when I was on totally dry land. And I saw some kid holding a sweatshirt, I thought it was another kid he was grabbing at first, haha. Of course, all this was back when I was even more of a noob than i am now, so that might have had something to do with it.

i'ts awesome in my opinion, gets me so high, more heady psychedelic type high than with indica dominant shit where im just sleepy and incoherent. but some people with high anxiety and paranoia dont like it, my friend thought his weed was laced cause he felt "more up,tingling, and small hallucinations" he said he was freaking and thinks the weed was laced. i told him its just sativa and he said fuck that haha. depends on the person i guess.

...on a few variables, quality of the bud and your presence of mind being most important.

I've had some fire ass sativa that gave me a strong sense of euphoria mixed with boundless energy. Colors were brighter, the sky was a dark, beautiful blue and felt a sense of well being. A good work day high!

A good indica mellows me out, and puts me in a more sociable mood. A floaty, relaxed high, where I can find humor in most things. Great before heading to see a movie...

That's what it does to ME...your results may differ.

100% Sativa's great! I don't understand the folks who say otherwise. It's not like comparing apples to oranges: sativa and indica are both WEED--there's not THAT big of a difference, in my experience. But sativa is much more rare, since most strains are hydbrids (sativa/indica blend) or simply just pure indica since it's so much easier to grow.

Of my selections, I'm currently smoking Arjan's Haze #2, which is a pure sativa. The buds have a very distinct structure--very different from your typical indica. And the stone of this particular strain takes much longer to set in--it "creeps" up on you. And when it gets going, it's more stimulating than your usual weed; I am pretty sure my heart rate goes up.... I definitely like to get up and dance or move around.

I know some growers who swear by having a 100% sativa for breakfast. Indeed, it IS a great way to start your day if you're into the wake 'n bake.

    peace.

smoke it or grow it your self... the only way to know
if it acts like a deppresent... indica
    like a stimulant.... sativa
    like a halucinigen....ruderalis
most weeds are eaither prodominitly indica or sativa witha bit of ruderalis in there somewhere...

in general, indicas grow shorter and fatter, like a bush. the nodes tend to be closer together which means the buds will become more compact.

sativas tend to grow taller, so the nodes are more spaced out. the buds will become more "airy" and kinda spread open.

but when you´re buying a bag, you´re most likely not getting it straight from the grower (unless you are - then good for you!). it´s being sold, re-sold, re-sold, etc. from hand to hand to hand. what do people always do when looking at weed to buy? they kind of shake the bag around, lightly pinch/squeeze the buds, rub them around in the bag a little - all to get a good look at them (understandably).

by the time you get it, the buds are somewhat squished and dont resemble what came off the plant. a pristine bud looks fucking outstanding compared to a commercial, transported bud.

it´s great to go to a place like The Netherlands and be able to know what you´re buying. i had some "Honey B" (a sativa) at Barney´s Lounge in March 07 and put it through a Volcano. holy shit was I high. to me, the volcano already makes any weed seem like a sativa: the high is more trippy and keeps you active (although it can turn you into a statue, too). when combined with a sativa, it´ll knock you outta this world.

the only other way to tell is to smoke them and see what kind of high they give you. i hardly ever really look at the high that way. i mostly focus on aroma, taste, and just getting high. i like to utilize different smoking devices to produce different highs versus trying to find just that kind of weed, which i probably couldnt do with much certainty anyway.
