If so, what? and if you can't play anything what would you like to play? I play guitar and bass to a reasonable standard
piano/keyboard/flute/bassoon and voice training... self taught-didgeridoo/recorder/ocarina/harmonica half-self-taught-guitar/bass guitar/kit want to be able to play- EVERY INSTRUMENT I SEE!!!!!
I never touched an instrument till high school, then learned the good old sousaphone.... Since then I've taught myself a bit of guitar and a bit of recorder...but I wouldn't consider myself terirbly good at any of these. I'd like to learn the recorder and flute, practice the guitar a bit more, and also would love to be a decent sax player...maybe someday.
There I was thinking maybe I'm not the only non-guitarist musician around and maybe there's a whole load of us who aren't all the same. Then I looked at the first page. Oh well. I've got nothing against guitars but it seems to be all that the musicians on here ever talk about is their guitars and their rock/indie/metal bands and there's no sodding variety. Guitarists even took over my thread about musicians who don't play the guitar! I also play the Bassoon and the Piano and the Feadóg and i've got a clarinet and will learn it properly one day I hope! The Megafag (contrabassoon) is just the best thing to play in an Orchestra, except of course when those rare moments of orchestral saxophone come up, which really are something special!
Hmm... Berkshire. Did you ever play in County? I only ask because I know a violinist from Maidenhead through university and wondered if you might have met her through that.
i play guitar and bass (very cliche i know) but i alsho play mandolin and bodhran woot woot woot oh and the pan pipes! which im not great at, but dandies mum bought me um! thank yooooou
yeah i play in county...oh but not my bassoon...i sing in county though and i know quite a lot of the county people...what's she called?
Bodhrán. Brilliant! Lúnasa are at the Cambridge Folk Festival this year. But it's sold out and my mum may not be able to blag press tickets this year. Hear's hoping!
I play guitar mainly (sorry Sax Machine ). I've tried to pick up blues harmonica. I can do a mean kazoo solo or two. Oh, and I can play a little piano - I'm slow on the music reading (just out of practice I guess), but I can do my major and minor chords as well as the sus2 and sus4 chords I also have a distinction (something like 90% grade) in music theory grade 3, but once again I'm out of practice . While searching for the certificate to find out the percentage, I've also realised that I can't find my record of achievement. Bugger. My sister used to have a full sized electric organ that we gave away when I was young...damn shame...it would have been so useful
I like to think I can play guitar, but I just sing loud enough so that you can't really hear all the mistakes! Yeh, so I sing and play guitar...and write songs...and I am a girl...what a cliche!
