As it happens, Jack Layton of the NDP Party is blabbing on about something about legalizing marijuana, I want to know what!
LOL sirtokesalot..... jack layton's views on marijuana aren't big news. he's a smoker, isn't he.... "used to be", anyway. he backs decriminalization for possession of small amounts. ...."Our view is there should be rules around marijuana use, personal use, age, driving, trafficking, mass production and marketing," he said. And Layton dismissed critics who say the stance helps organized crime. "When something is criminalized to the extent that marijuana is you have by definition created a context for organized crime," he said. fuck NDP..i'm not voting but i know enough to not vote NDP pretty much either way u vote, all 3 are gonna be somewhat Pro-weed and what it really comes down to is the City's mayor and how hard he pushes it, thats why i loved Larry cambell as the mayor of vancouver
conservatives are going to crack down on growers, making the penalties stiffer. Harper is the canadian Bush...don't fuck up canada please.
Yeah, they're now looking at a complete gun ban. Handguns are not permitted except if you're a cop or are some kind of registered target shooter. It's not like in the US where you can apply for a permit and carry. Your US permit means NOTHING in Canada. The first cop to see you strapped will draw a gun on you. If you move wrong in any way you will be shot dead.
LOL, thats how most American cops are too there buddy. I thought Canadian cops were super passive? Arent handguns still allowed in Toronto? I read somewhere that in light of the growing murder rate in Toronto, they are considering a handgun ban.
OK look. Handguns are NOT legal to possess in Canada, except in extreme circumstances, like you are a bona fide handgun competition shooter. You can't just buy one and carry it. It doesn't work that way. In order to get one, you have to give up most of your civil rights (cops can come in at any time, etc) , and also submit to expensive and intrusive tests. They ask your employer, spouse etc. if they have a problem with you owning guns, if that comes back yes you can never own one. You're required to keep the gun in one safe, the ammo in another and ONLY have it out of that safe en route to a sanctioned and sponsored official competition and back. Yes, they'll bust your door in to periodically check. Now, if you're a Jamaican gang-banger, you just buy a gun in the States, smuggle it in, and shoot who you please. Then the government, told to get tough on crime, decides to institute a billion plus dollar gun registry to make Alberta farmers register grandpappy's squirrel gun at great expense, so they can confiscate them later. If you own a gun (they put serial and tracking #s on it) and the gun is later used in a crime you're charged with that crime whether you did it or not. If you don't like that state of affairs, you're told, don't own the gun.
And unlike in the States, where they see a guy with a gun (not weilding it, just with it on him) and they may or may not check permits, if they think you're armed it's shoot to kill.
Fuck, no one needs guns anyways. And arguing politics with you iron goth is like arguing with a wall, so im not even gonna go there. Our political affiliations are just too different.
At least he isnt saying "Hahaha, stupid potheads your all wrong" this time... he has good points sometimes if you just shut the fuck up and listen once in awhile
