I started on the pill (mini pill) just 9 days ago, since then i have gotten 2 canker sores and it looks like a have another 1 or 2 starting. Ive googled and only found one other person who was concerend about this, but they were given no answers. Any information would be appreciated.

are you getting canker sores or cold sores?

if it's canker sores, that's fairly rare (especially only 9 days into taking) but most likely due to vitamin deficiency caused by the pill in some people. if not already doing so, taking a quality multivitamin each day may stop them.

if canker sores, possible but very rare is also that you may have an allergy or sensitivity to some ingredient in this pill.

if it's cold sores, it's pretty common as any hormonal fluctuation runs a risk of temporarily compromising a person's immune system enough for an outbreak of herpes to occur. that's why it's so common for cold sores to occur around ovulation or just prior to menstruation in females not on hormonal birth control. having just started a new bc pill, this would be pretty normal and may stop once you've gone through a month or three and your body fully adjusts.

women on birth control tend to need more vitamin B12 and canker sores are caused by B12 defiencies.
