I think George Clooney is a handsome and good actor. I was shocked to hear that he got arrested for protesting on the White House lawn. He was put in a paddy wagon and handcuffed with a few other people and put in jail for three hours. They said he crossed a line that was given by police not to cross on the White House lawn during a protest and they arrested him and his friend. He was with a political friend and several other poeple and they were all arrested. Someone asked how they took the three our incarceration. A man said that Clooney was real good natured and it was funny he told them he was Brad Pitt.
you're shocked that he was protesting, or shocked that the police would arrest him because he's famous?
Because he is a idiot hollywood actor , you make it so huge and shocking . for me he is just a waste drug ''actor''.
Yes, sadly. What is even more 'shocking' is the fact that - A. Some people around here think Clooney is a great actor and has done anything worthwhile in his acting career B. That anyone would think he would be protesting for anything other than as a mode of self-promotion
I feel sorry for George Clooney because he is not a father. He was standing up for blacks in other countrys that were being killed. It was a selfless act of what he believed in should protest for. He was standing up to help other people.
Mr. Clooney, Is not a father and i do not believe he will ever be a father , he is old now. I feel sorry for him. He was trying to help some black people he felt sorry for that is why he was protesting. He did not go with friends. he thought he was standing up for something he believed was right that is all. He wanted to be heard. He is not a bad guy.

He was arrested as an intentional act of civil disobedience, along with, "Clooney's Father Nick Clooney; President of United to End Genocide and former Congressman Tom Andrews; Congressmen Jim McGovern, D-MA, Al Green, D-TX, Jim Moran, D-VA., and John Olver D-MA; Martin Luther King III, NAACP President Ben Jealous; and Enough Project Co-Founder John Prendergast, according to a police statement." Clooney was protesting attacks on the people of southern Sudan by the Sudanese goverment. Essentially, the Sudanese government, controlled by the arab north and Omar al-Bashir, has for many years been waging a genocidal war against the african population of Sudan in the south and in the western Darfur region. They have attempted to exterminate the african population in order to seize total control of that nation's oil and oil revenue. The Bashir regime has been known for an unfathomable brutality, employing gang rape and torture along with simple genocide. More than 250,000 people were exterminated in Darfur alone. They have done this with the backing of China, the nearly exclusive consumer of Sudanese oil. China has blocked human rights intervention in the UN, and has illegally supplied arms the regime I don't agree that Clooney is just self-promoting. Seems straight up to me.
Clooney already has a pile of money. And he's not hurting for acting gigs. Clooney and John Predergast describe themselves as "the anti-genocide paparazi". They're certainly media savy, and they are trying to get media attention. I'll give the trash talk about Clooney more consideration when it comes out of the mouth of someone who's done a damn thing to try to stop the genocide in Sudan.
For the record, I don't think Clooney is a great actor. I think his protests of genocide in Sudan are legit, but even if you imagine that he's doing all of this for selfish reasons, I don't give a damn. The only issue worth considering here is whether or not what he is doing is going to save innocent people from being exterminated and tortured. And so far what he's done has been a hell of a lot better than nothing, and is putting real pressure on the Bashir regime. Question Clooney's motives all you want, but there is no doubt that the Bashir regime's campaign of genocide in Sudan has been one of the worst human rights violations in the history of the world.
