Definately the Dead...no question about for me.

Although I LOVE creedence, they can't beat the beauty of the Dead.

On a lot of albums, the dead were folk, and they didn't really incorporate jamming into it. (on the albums, at least).

    that's my take...

bad comparison my friend... but nonetheless, i choose the grateful dead. i do enjoy both bands, but there is a depth (least for me) to the dead's songwriting that CCR's kinda lacks

I'm goin with creedence. there were few songwriters like john fogerty. too bad ccr only lasted 5 years...not counting the golliwogs years

ccr's one of my special groups :)

I prefer the psychadelic jugband style of the Grateful Dead. CCR is not psycadelic but I still like them.

creedence, just because fortunate son is such an amazing song. it's one of those songs that by listening to it you can define a little bit of the 60's.
