Do any parents do this? I wasn't really censored as a kid at all. I would be much more likely to censor for quality rather than obscenity. Like I'd let my kids watch Wall-E but wouldn't allow them to watch Twilight. I think it's a good idea.
My parents didn't do it, but they didn't really do any parenting to begin with. Good thing I had notions of quality at an early age. I would totally censor for quality. Not entirely, but enough to establish a complete sense of quality in my kids at a very early age. I wouldn't censor for obscenity though.
i wasn't censored, and i don't censor much for my nephew...shit, he just watched Robocop 1 and 2 with us a couple weeks ago and well, the 2nd one wasn't the same quality as the 1st one not even interested in the 3rd one
Everybody's a critic. So you've seen both? Says a lot about your cinema choices and your homosexual tendencies.
Wall-E was presented in an absolutly revolutionary narrative format for a childrens movie, with a nuanced dystopic view of the future of humanity and a beautiful photorealistic world.
Are you just here to be a remorseless ****, or do you have something mildly useful to add to the thread?
i havent seen wall-E, but my son really wants to watch it, were going to buy it for him soon. my very good friend told me he loved it, and it had a lot of meaning to the movie. I allow my son to watch shows or movies that have some value to it, something that he can hold on to, whether its educational (which is very strong in my selecting) or to open his mind more.
I wasnt censored at all as a kid. But I do understand censoring for quality. I wouldnt call it so much censor, but at least make sure that he/she has a great exposure to things I consider to be of good quality. I already have a mental list of shows, movies that I would like the baby to watch and hopefully end up liking. It's more difficult to change that when they already have a defined preference of things, so the earlier you start, the better.
I was going to ask who was the giver and who was the taker in rubin and yours buttfuck relationship, but that that seems silly to ask now. Back to the original question: In a world of Hannah Montana and High School Musical, you ask do parents censor for quality. Need I add more?
We're versatile. But your second statement says absolutely nothing. Some people wouldn't let kids watch that garbage, most do. But that's not what the thread is about... it's about you, yes you!
Jack has Wall-E and I thought it was a very unique children's movie and I was impressed on their view of the future too. Also, Wall-E is adorable
