does anyone agree that hes gotta be one of the best actors of all time? the movies he made are still great 60 years later. and he not only did acting but directing, musical scores, editing, he was very talented.
Yes he was very talented. Even his early silent films are still funny and entertaining (which are over 80 years old).
I agree, they are the best films I know. Some days ago I watched "The Pawnshop", a short film from 1916, and I couldn't stop laughing.
I like:'The Immigrant' made in 1917.He eats baked beans & french roll & makes it look like gourmet. He then meets up with Edna Purviance.A romantic liason takes place.
i cant think of my favorite movie, but in the gold rush after the girl says she will go on a date with him, soooooo fucking hilarious!
oh i love him so much!!! my favorite of his movies would probably be the gold rush, as far as humor goes anyways. i absolutely love the part when he does that dance with the rolls, dont know why i just thought it was quite hilarious. Oh! and when that guy thinks hes a chicken! god, maybe im just easily entertained but i thought that was hilarious. city lights would be my favorite as far as emotional appeal, plot etc. i didnt think it was as funny as some of the others but i enjoyed it as a movie. i absolutley love his originality. wow i doubt there will ever be another charlie chaplin....
He certainly was a genius. It's such a shame that most young people today won't even give him (or any silent films) a chance. I have to say that I kind of wish he'd have been more productive during the '20s. He only made three features in that ten-year span (not counting A Woman of Paris), while Buster Keaton made thirteen and Harold Lloyd made ten. Of course, those three Chaplin films are all wonderful, so maybe I shouldn't complain.
I'm definitely obsessed with him to an unhealthy degree. "City Lights" is my favorite movie, and I cry like a baby every time I watch the end... I thought "Chaplin" was pretty good, as well.
