one branch of my family tree is well documented, my picture was the last to make it in before they published it. i dont know how many copies. my dad has one, but the last time i was in it's presence no one would let me concentrate enough to really look at it (which is saying something, because i can read through damn near anything). thats my father's paternal grandmother's line. my paternal grandfather's line is the known revolutionary line (my ancestor fought alongside washington). im sure there are many interesting branches. one day (when i win the lottery) i will hire someone to do it properly, the more information i have ahead of that though, the cheaper it will be.

history is so much more interesting when its about people. especially people who are already special to you, like your ancestors. it would be cool to prove a relation that granny told you about when you were young, but it shouldnt be the driving force. its better to meet your ancestors through written proof of their existence. diary accounts. there will not be much left of us, of our stories, unless they are written down. protected.

my mom's line is harder to trace. her father was adopted, no one knows where that biological branch goes, and her biological grandfather was a bad guy, and not spoken about. thats the line that we think is native american. i havent found anything definitive about it. my paternal grandmother's mother immigrated from ireland when she was young. its all fascinating stuff. how we, ourselves, got here. if that ancestor hadnt met that ancestor, you would not be here.

i will transfer laundry, and crochet. at 10 i will start clearing off the craft table. :)

My grandfather worked on our family tree long before computers were around. My Dad took up the project and now has information on Ancestry dot com but he does not list names or any personal information on anyone still living.

Fell off the weed wagon yesterday.
Now I'm rocking a nasty sinus headache.
I've always known most of my sinus issues were because of the weed.
Just another reason I keep trying to quit.

My dad's side is like that. Grandpa is kind of a nasty prick so don't really know him. But he never talked about where we come from. All we know is his father died and mom abandoned him at a orphanage and kept his siblings. Maybe that is why he is so angry.

On my mom's side I know I have some native American blood but not much. I'm like 1/8th Arapahoe.
