How to Stop Automatic Account Debits – Banks Must Comply -

    Colorado

"It's really important to know that you can stop automatic debits from your bank account," she said, "especially if you haven't authorized them or if you've withdrawn authorization. It's important to know that you do have rights." -

According to federal law, people have the right to stop any electronic authorizations with their bank or credit union, -

hubby signed the paper, made the agreement. got a notice (opened, probably didnt read) that said he would be charged in 15 days if he didnt pay before hand.

his screw-up. but he has thought (and been paying for that thought) for years that auto-payments are a-okay. i tried to tell him. hes got most of the crap paid down now. just still expensive lessons.

I think my dog is more fed up with winter than I am. She looks out the door and then at me with a look that is saying "you have to be kidding me".

Lately I have been frustrated with the weather and Dad's health and other things. This commercial sums up what I feel like some days.

I can't even get out my driveway... So, I guess I don't need to shovel.

If you were given $50 to watch a film of all the bugs that have crawled on you in your sleep for the last 10 years would you?

The video would be short enough to see everything while not wasting your time...

Payments are generally not okay on anything.

But on a car? Hell no.

Better to buy a heap and put the payments into repairs and rebuilds, than buy a shiny new pos that's not yours and that they can drag away any time they want.

Only sort of broke - more money's always good.

It already happened and I survived, how bad can it be?

    Besides, red pill, you know.

wasnt a car, was cancellation fee for tv service. i told him we didnt need tv. the other auto payments were credit card bills, normally the ones that have deffered interest so that he gets them paid in time, but also our big cc bill, and our low interest rate holiday loan (which we used to consolidate the higher interest cc bills 2 years ago)

he was never taught how to handle money. when i do get work, or manage to sell some homemade things, it will be profit into my own account. i can get things i need/ want. i know how to pay my things on time (even if its been a long time since ive had to) and even plan on doing the life insurance dance for both of us, so that at least the house will be paid for if one of us dies. i know that i can afford that if im working and saving. he will learn eventually, or he wont. but my kids will absolutely understand how to deal with money.
hubby's mom bought her drugs first, always. "i wants! i wants!" he had no guide for how to save and/or pay bills. i was raised in a completely different environment. when i had my first real paycheck my dad would drive me to the bank, and ask me how much i was keeping out as cash and what for. $20 for lunch during the week. $40 if i wanted to buy fabric for a project. he never told me no, he just wanted me to think ahead for the week. i bought a car out of that money (it got stolen before i got my license, but then, i still only have a permit and im almost 30) and there was still a balance there that we were able to put toward our down payment. not too much, but every bit helps. i know how to not spend money, how to get the important stuff first. to keep the credit usage in check. i can never stop being grateful to my dad for making sure i understood that stuff, ive seen first hand what happens when someone doesnt learn it growing up.
