All year round? I'm so glad i asked this because i thought they weren't in effect as of summer. So if a school/park zone sign says 30km/h i do it, but if it has no limit posted i just remain doing 50?

and oh yes, i remember having to park on a hill my last test... but i don't remember, if you're parking downwards do you turn your wheels to the right? and if you're parking upwards you turn them to the left? I don't really get the difference... I think it's most self explanatory which way to turn them when you're actually sitting on the hill, then you just know, but sitting here now trying to figure it out is confusing lol

I think i got this, all i really need to do is signal and should check like crazy any time needed, and pay attention to every single sign and hazard... But honestly, sometimes they fail you just for the hell of it... A lot of times they will fail you, and if you ask why, they'll say "you missed a few shoulder checks" even though you know you shoulder checked every single time... It honestly all depends on the instructors mood...

Where i live, in the lower mainland, it is proven to be the most difficult place in BC to get your licences, they are insanely strict here...

I wish i got my licences when i was 16... I didn't even go and try to get my learners until i was 17..

I could have had my full licences when i was in grade 11... now i'm graduated and still don't have it, i honestly don't know why i didn't get off my ass and just do it earlier... laazzyness

Oh damn, yeah I was all over that shit. Think I went on the Monday following my 16th birthday

I lived in a pretty rural area though, so getting a license asap was critical if you wanted to do pretty much anything.. Plus I had already saved up my cash and purchased a car, so it was just sitting there begging to be driven..

Speaking of car I almost bought a new one a few days ago, but it was spur of the moment and I decided it was too impulsive... not to mention unnecessary because I already have a car (which I love) that is in good shape and runs great.. I love that vehicle, so why get a new one? It's just one more "thing" to have to worry about..

To me, its just transportation. A to B. Nothing more

That's what i always thought i would have done too. Growing up i was so excited to get my licences and always planned to go right in on my birthday. The next thing i know... it's over a year later after my 16th birthday and i haven't even considered going in yet. But one day i just woke up and was like "fuckit, i'll just go get my licences.." i didn't even study at all but i aced that test with flying colors, i got like 48/50 i think... Then i had my learners again for over a year... and still have it... But hopefully as of today, i'll pass the road test...

I'm just so anxious, you guys have no idea how badly i want my licences, i love to drive, i could honestly drive around all day (if it weren't for wasting gas haha) and i've only ever driven with my parents or another adult in the car, it'll be even more fun to be able to finally drive around on my own or with friends, i'm so excited for this... Just watch me fail again, i'll be crushed, having to wait another 2 or so months....

there is nothing wrong with narrating your shoulder checks....just say ''shoulder check'' as you do it...not loudly but so the tester knows you being diligent

i believe the wheels should be facing in a direction so that if your car slips out of gear it will only roll against the curb and not out into traffic

again...on a one way street you can park on both sides sometimes....the wheel thing gets tricky

dont wear a bunch of cologne...they hate that

i was under the impression that if you fail a second time the waiting period is shorter

Public transportation here sucks, if you want to go anywhere you need your licences. The mall is a 15 minute drive from here... But if you want to get there by bus it's about 45 minutes, not to mention waiting for a bus to come... and they only come every hour or so i think so it puts way more pressure on being on time

And thats just for something like the mall... it would never work if you needed to use it to get to work or school or to friends houses or whatever. Whenever i see a bus drive by there's only ever like 2-3 people on it with sooo many empty seats, such a waste...

Haha they'll probably think i'm an insane person :p not saying i'm not... i just don't want them to know that lol

But that makes sense, i think it'll be obvious which way to turn the wheels once i'm actually parked on the hill

Possibly, the waiting time to re-take the test is actually only 2 weeks... But you have to book an apointment, and all apointments are booked until like 2-3 months away usually.... So regardless you have to wait forever, which is the worst part. Thats why im taking my test in this different city ive never even been in before, because somebody canceled an apointment there so i quickly took it.

I can tell you first hand, that excitement will go down the shitter after you've had a license for a while.. I was the same way when I first got my license. I thought to myself "man, I fucking LOVE driving I'll never get sick of this." Even the most mundane shit like driving to the store and back was cool for a while.

However, once you get a couple years experience under your belt you start singing a different tune.. I fucking hate driving now, its more or less like a chore that you're always procrastinating and trying to get out of.. well, hate is a strong word but its definitely a royal pain in the ass. Not to mention the sheer stupidity and ignorance you encounter on the roads... some of the shit I see go down on a day-to-day basis still amazes me...NEVER forget you're driving a 3,000lb weapon. You can kill yourself and others so fucking easily when operating a vehicle it will make your head spin... and when you become a habituated driver, that thought rarely (if ever) crosses your mind. Always be responsible and truly aware of your surroundings and everything going down around you. Use your peripheral vision

I always have someone else drive if possible. Though I do get kind of car-sick if I'm sitting in the back seat for extended periods of time.. fortunately, a few puffs on some heady cannabis takes care of it for me.

On an unrelated note; trees blowing and swaying in the wind are some of the most under-appreciated and beautiful things in existence.... just took my dog outside and was reminded of this :)

Say i see a sign like this:

That means i slow down to 30km/h 24/7 regardless of what time it is right? But say the sign doesnt have that "30km/h" posted below it... that means i remain my normal speed, right? Because it's just there to warn us that kids may be around?

Haha i was just thinking of this actually... My parents always complain about driving and i never get why, i drive every chance i get, and once i get my full licences i'll probably just be making up random excuses to go driving everywhere :D

But i guess you're right, the excitment will fade eventually... But driving will always be a little fun i think, especially in the back roads... i live in an amazing place where the back roads are just beyond beautiful, and there's literally nobody ever on those roads and you can just go on forever as fast as you like, its so fun to just cruise down them listening to good music

But driving in traffic sucks... But i admittedly still enjoy it more than not driving at all :p
