i wouldnt say 100% phased out, but the car makers dont put the CD player in anymore. and thats a clear sign of things to come. 8track , cassette, same pattern..

i used to tie strings on them. two CD's together than toss them over the telegraph wires.

that drives me nuts too cd drive always opens when my hand is near it...old laptop i ripped it right out ..this one is too nice and ive been able to control myself so far

Just came back with a new laptop and a Bose sound bar and woofer

 

Not sure if its a woofer it's a smaller box that makes thumping sounds it came with the sound bar and the sound bar is multi directional

 

a speaker is a speaker to my old ears, surround dont do much for me nowadays. i liked it back whens, but not much anymore.

 

glad i still have a cd player, the connection for my ipod for whatever reason isnt the most reliable. every once in a while it just dies and i have to recharge it in an outlet. the bluetooth on my phone works to talk but cant get the music player on my phone to work with bluetooth. cds are a great backup.

 

usb flashdrives are nice, but need backed up too. Ive let them sit for some years with not data loss , so Im not sure..

 

My presentation went well, I think! Yay. Pretty much the only stressful thing this semester and it's over.

I think I shall smoke pot to this.
