west philly isnt too bad...when i was looking we found a few that were like 675/m for a 2br...my place is 795/m + electric and cooking gas...heat and water is included. their were plenty of cheaper ones that we found but we didnt want to be that far from school the cheaper ones arent very nice either haha...but philly is so close to jersey so i dont know if you want to be far away haha
yeah i wanted to go to uarts but with the tuition of that school && the apartment cost i said no... the prices aren't that bad though if worst comes to worse i think i will be moving over there. a lot of my friends just migrated over there lol
There are plenty of cheap places to live. What type of place are you looking for-but more importantly-what about work?
at least a 2 bedroom apartment. i just quit my job but wherever i move i'm going to have to get a new job... i like to work so it's not like i'm a slacker.
Most of the south is pretty cheap. I lived in Knoxville, TN, and I had a 4 BR apt w/ some friends & that was only $335 a month per person for rent. A 2 BR there is around the $450-$600 range, depending on where exactly you are. It's a college town essentially so there's plenty of places to go out at night as well.
bout to say the same thing i'm gonna be in Columbia, Missouri in about a month and they have pretty cheap places - it's not a big city but it is a college town (Mizzou) and it is surprisingly chill. The downtown has an organic/all natural grocer and some hip stores and restaurants. kaldi's is a coffee shop my sister works at that is pretty much always hiring - if you have been a barista before, you'd have a one-up on a lot of applicants i'm personally really excited!
you can get a 1 bedroom for 275 in not too bad of a neighborhood in indiana if you look hard enough. 350-375 is real easy to find. but watch out, indiana's boring. and if you wanna live in the projects...or as close as what we have to that there. a 1 bedroom is like 90/month. no joke. there's houses in some of the bad neighborhoods in my town for under 10,000$. i wouldn't recommend living there, let alone driving through though. i think i saw a sign somewhere that a 2 or 3 bedroom was like 650 a month.
i really haven't looked much into housing yet in Columbia, as I am going to be in the dorms for my first year (i have to as a freshman) not so sure about single bedroom apartments, but my sister pays i think around 300 a month for her 3 bedroom apartment that is right downtown and across the journalism school (more desirable location). her roomates pay more/less because of their room size differences
Yeah if all I still don't know wtf i'm going to do with my life by the time i need to start enrolling for college, I'll prolly end up going to Columbia at some point, cause at least i'll know people there
twang, there are more options than just mizzou, too keep in mind columbia university is down there and you can easily transfer from that college to mizzou after one or two years - its quite common
