Disclaimer: for the purposes of this thread and to cover my ass from civil liability I'm going to state that this a hypothetical situation and none of it is true.

I have gotten information, all of which is hearsay, that an individual has molested his niece, his non-custodial son, and his sons half sister. Even though it is hearsay, I believe the seriousness of the allegations warrant an investigation. The nature of the molestations has escalated with each incident. The first being a forced felatio to the last of which required surgery to repair the damage he had done to the childs hind end. As I understand it, the first victem did not come forward until many years later when she became an adult so nothing was done about it. As for the other two, the information I have is very vauge about why he was never investigated for the second two incidents but it seems that they were bouncing around the foster care system and someone covered for the molester because they didn't want the children to be put through the trauma of going back through the experience in a legal setting. The only reason I have a reasonable belief that he did assualt these children is that I was told that the little boy responded "Daddy dad it" when asked about the injury to his hind end he finally opened up to someone about the experience who decided not to give this information to the authorities out of concern for the childs phsychological well being, i find this to be flawed logic but thats the situation.

Now for my dillema. I'll be honest in saying that I hold a grudge against the individual for a crime he commited against me that amounted to attempted murder, which he managed to get away with. For this reason, I am reluctant to go forward to the authorities with this information because I have no difinitive evidence and with the justice system we have it wouldnt surprise me if he got away with it again. I have heard I could be held liable criminaly and civily for bringing this to the attention of the authorities if he is in fact innocent. The police whose jurisdiction this would fall under are extremly corrupt and I believe that is why he has gotten away from all his unrelated crimes (fraud/theft by deception etc.) thus far. So I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm on probation, so if he turns out to be innocent, or is guilty and gets off through a fuck up in the system, I could get in alot of trouble, even go to jail. But I also couldn't live with myself if he hurts another child and I didn't make any attempt to put him behind bars where he cant hurt any more children. I called child protective services and told them the same "hypothetical story" and my my concern about liability and they told me to call the police. But if I do that, I've opened myself up to the civil and criminal liability. Someone needs to stand up and bring this to the attention of the authorities before another child gets hurt. He lives on a block with at least 20 children in the age range his pattern of attacks follow. So what do I do? I need a way to get the ball rolling on an investigation better than an anonymous tip. If anyone is a lawyer and can tell me difinitivly what to do in pennsylvania that would be the best, but I'm open to any ideas. Someone please help me find a way to protect all the children in the area against this predator.

Edit: Don't think I wont report this out of selfish concern for myself. If it comes down to it I'll have to go forward with the information I have and worry about my liability later. The well being of these children is more important. But that is a last resort.

Go above your local cops, go to the state police or state attorney generals office, sure the locals may investigate but they'll be hard pressed to cut the guy any slack when they know someone else is watching over them. As far as the civil issue goes.............that's flat out ridiculous, you cannot be sued for defamation unless you say something in a public forum. Now get off your ass and call those Pigs.

Called police. Was told to come to station with evidence and file report. Was warned by the annoyed cop that if I didn't bring evidence and it wasnt true I'd be charged with filing a false report. So my above post was correct. I knew because this has happened in the past while trying to file a report witht the corrupt locals . . .

Calling state police, more in a minute.

look...........if they try to charge you for reporting a suspected child molester, once again, go over thier heads, I highly doubt it, but on the hypothetical chance that they did do that, it would never hold water, they only way you possibly could get convicted is if you personally made a statement that it was all made up.....if you go to them with genuine concern, you have NOTHING to worry about.

your doing something wrong....don't call the State Police to do something about your local police, call the State Police to do something about the child molester, better yet just go down to your local station and talk to a detective about what you do know, and if you have any problems or they won't help you then post on here tomorrow and pm me and I will have an ACLU lawyer friend of mine contact the Pennsylvania States Attorneys office.

If you don't want to deal with the cops, call Child Protective Services. They are not police officers and can maintain your confidentiality better than the cops. If CPS goes by a different name in your state, call the cops and ask them the number. (Yes, I'm serious about that.)

PS. Forget this "hypothetical" shit. Children are at risk. Stand up and speak the truth like a man.

yea, i would call the child protective services - they'll be able to get things moving a lot faster. or your department of social services should be able to help too.

as i said in the orginal post

Edit: Don't think I wont report this out of selfish concern for myself. If it comes down to it I'll have to go forward with the information I have and worry about my liability later. The well being of these children is more important.

And to the last poster i did call the equivalent of CPS before i even posted here and they directed to me to call the police. It seems no one wants to deal with me because all the information I have basicaly came through the grapevine like I explained and I just got done screaming at the person who gave me the information because they dont have the stones to go to the police and will deny anything I repeat to the police. Everyone wants to either protect this sick fuck or keep the children from having to tell about. I'm the one whos trying to do something about this. It's fucked up.

sounds like you're stuck unless you can get proof of what happend. it sucks...sucks badly if something is happening and no one else will speak up.

maybe contacting some advocacy groups, maybe they're help you leverage the problem..

If all else fails get a few buddies (overprotective fathers are good for this) a great big sheet or blanket and a few Louisville Sluggers and throw him a "blanket party".

also call the rape crisis folks. Ask how to help in a suspected sexual assault on children.
also what evidence, hrad evidence, do you have, e-mails, notes, anything?
has the guy ever been prosecuted?
    and did YOU prosecute him?
(that might be the false report angle: people DO file this sort of stuff as revenge or in a custody case.)

Most states have a sexual offenders registry.
Check to see if he has a history. Heres the one for the state of Alaska, where I live.

You should have one in your state, dont know where your from or I'd look it up.
If the asshole does have a history, the law will go after him double time...
    Good luck............Dennis...

This is a man's issues. It was taken seriously by other veteran forum male members.

The original poster was looking for advice and help from male members. Aren't you getting it yet, ronald mcdonald?

This is a Mens issue, a Womens, a Human issue......What ever any of us can do to keep these sick criminals from messing with kids, should be pursued all the way until
this person is taken off the streets.

I've seen you post this in other threads as well. If you don't like the topic/think it belongs, then don't read it. Your not a fucking moderator, deal with it.
