I was just wondering if you can eat dark chocolate and have soda when your vegan.

    Thanks for your time:)

Several brands of dark chocolate are vegan. My favorite is Green & Blacks :)

For sodas I guess it depends on whether or not you've eliminated refined sugar. If you have, something like Blue Sky's organic might be okay - hopefully someone else will know that answer.

do look out for Hershey's special dark, A kashrut (kosher) list I'm on had an alert a year or so ago that it is now dairy.
    which sucks on road trips.
I don't know on Cadbury, but if you look on the label and see a K or a U inside of an O without the word Dairy, scan the back for egg white, and after that, it is a perfectly reasonable guess that it is vegan. (bone char sugar aside, and that is VERY individual.)
I prefer beet sugar, but I'm in a sugar beet state! Local, baby.
that said, Green & Black's rocks. Esp. the orange spice.
A bar lasts me about a month.
I do have organic Santa Cruz brand chocolate syrup for pouring on chilled bananas. (my "ice cream")

Most sodas are okay though some certain cream sodas and the like might contain milk deritives.

Make sure you read the ingredients on the back of chocolate... cocoa butter is okay, but just plain butter is not. Casein is something to watch for in anything, because it derives from milk... It's easy to figure out which ones are vegan and which ones aren't you just have to be careful with reading ingredients. Try googling an animal products list so you know what to watch for. I got one a while ago off peta's site but I can't remember how to get to the particular link.

Some of my favorite dark chocolates are:
Newmans Own Sweet Dark... there is also some orange dark bar too, that is apparently vegan but I have never tried it.

Lindt's dark chocolate, both 70% cocoa and bittersweet versions are vegan. I personally find the 70% cocoa one far to bitter for my likes, but I enjoy the bittersweet one.

Most often the more expensive, less popular, more "elegant" chocolates will provide vegan dark chocolates.

Otherwise, www.veganessentials.com has a good assortment if you care to try ordering online.

Many things that you wouldn't expect to be vegan are.
And some things that you would swear are vegan, aren't.

Another ingredient to watch for is whey. For a while I thought Reeses Pieces were vegan, until one day I realized I was sadly mistaken and saw "whey" listed on the ingredients. I stopped eating them immediately.

I've found chocolate "flavored" chips at the grocery store which are vegan, and they aren't carob, nor are they really chocolate either, but they taste like regular chocolate and I munch on those a lot when I want chocolate.

Soda is completely ok for vegans, though if you're going vegan for health reasons, that wouldn't make much sense lol.

Although this wasn't part of your question, also be aware of things you might think are vegan too like fruit smoothies. I had a feeling a smoothie I got at a cafe once wasn't vegan by the creamy texture of it, so I asked next time I went in what the ingredients were and there was some sort of milk powder in the mix.

Be careful of this. Sometimes its ridiculous what sorts of things contain animals products.

Pardon my ignorance, but does Native Sun stretch into Canada? If so, they have a wide assortment of vegan chocolates available. Regular shopping centers like Publix, Wal-Mart, etc. I have found, typically don't carry anything.
