I don't think it's possible to predict the end of the world, and I'm not sure where 2012 came from. I wouldn't rule it out though, because of the proliferation of nuclear weapons and the stupidity of world leaders. We live in scary times. I don't believe in Revelations either, but if enough people do, it could become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The 2012 thing is based on the Mayan calender ending in 2012. Some people speculate they stoped there because the world does... others just think they had to stop somewhere.

Depends on what you mean by the world ending. The earth itself will not end but the Bible does point to a time when all the bad things on the earth will be done away with and all the people, governments and organizations that propagate that badness will be done away with as well. But there is no set year for it, it’s suppose to come when we least expect it.

All things end, the world will indeed end one day.

Why credit Maya prophecy more than Christian prophecy? If any of it comes true, it's a coincidence.

Eliyahu, do know know what a "son of God" is?

Now the Jewish messiah is a regular man. A leader, but with no supernatural powers. This means that anybody has a shot at it. Your zionist infested government is hard at work to set up a world messiah in this image.

They are using religious belief against the people to carry out another attempt at world control.

You Israelis better put your house in order before the world becomes afraid of you and destroys Israel out of that fear.

There is no battle between God and the Devil. It's the same old story of good people trying to throw off bad people who are mean to them.

Well first off, the Mayan calender atleast has some proof that it can be accurate. Revelations is just a dream by some guy and has no credibility to me as true prophecy.

Second, i wasn't 'crediting' Mayan prohpecy over Christian prophecy, i was just answering your question as to what it is.

Your initial post was addressed to Christians, and specified the year 2012. That's why I was puzzled. I agree with you about the credibility of Revelations. Is the "some proof" about the accuracy of the Mayan calender simply the fact that it does function well as a calender?

Yes because it is apparantly very accurate as a calander. I was just trying to answer a question you directed towards the OP, im not sure why you seem to be challenging me.

Seeing as the question was directed at Christians and Christians believe in a God that has the power to sustain the earth forever and so the earth will not end unless God so desires and indications from the Bible seem to show that God doesn't want it to happen. (Psalm 37:29) (Psalm 104:5)

The end of the earth as we know it is inevitable. You can read your Pslams as much as you want, you can tell me that your responding as a Christian and not an intelligent individual, it wont make you right.

Our sun will not last for ever, once that goes what do you think will happen to earth? Peter 3:10

Okay is yours a Christian view of what will happen to the earth?

What about the meek inheriting the earth? What kind of a blessing from God would it be to inherit a burnt out lifeless planet?

If God wants the sun to last forever, what do you think will happen? Are you calling God's hand short?

Or do you not believe in God and if so why are you even answering, seeing as the question is about what Christians thought about the future of the earth?

I thought that might be what is upsetting you, what more would i have to do then believe in the Father, Son and holy spirit to call myself a Christian? Would it offend you should my faith waver from one day to the next?

What about the meek inheriting the earth? why could they not inherit it for a long time then it die? why could they not inherit an earth on a different plane of existance? It does not really matter.

The truth is, no matter what you believe, the sun will die as all suns do, our earth will die. Wether you believe that is because God's hand is short or because he wants it that way is up to you.

But don't give me a bible qoute and tell me it is going to be this way because this is how it is written when i know better, when you should know better. I have provided you with another bible qoute that sums up what i am saying; the earth will die in a physical way, there is no doubt about it, that is the way it is meant to be. If you can ignore that qoute with faith in God's word why then can i not do the same to the ones you have given me?

In regards to the qoutes you have given me, Pslam 37:29; my response is this "well Charlie sometimes when grown ups say forever they mean a really long time"

And Pslam 104:5 sais that the foundation of earth shall last forever, not the earth itself... but of course interpreting bible qoutes one way or another doesn't make me right or wrong.

Once again you call God's hand short in this matter. It really doesn't matter what you believe or what I believe but what God wants to happen. If God, who created the sun in the first place, wants the sun to last forever, it's going to last forever, likewise with the earth. So as I said you can believe anything you want but it is GOD the decides whats going to happen and your belief has nothing to do with it.

PS You are not upsetting me, thanx anyway for the concern.

Well , Im not a Christian , I am Native American , and believe that the world will be re-born , in a sense. She will renew herself , after those that abused her have gone , then she will be here for the next generation to follow.

    EXACTLY !!!

Thank you brother olderwater...if people paid attention to the order God made things in, they would see just where Humans fit in ...we are at the bottom of the list of important things here on Earth , having been created last !
