In the New Testament it is mentioned several times that the end would come in the lifetime of the disciples.
Perhaps it is because predicting the future is as uncertain for 'god' and his 'chosen men' as it is for all men. Think of it like Heisenberg's uncertainty principle.
He did say that. He also said that he will come when EVERYONE has heard. (not when everyone believes. Just at least heard about him) If you believe in God as your savior then you are a disciple. All in all there are still disciples out there so it is still in the lifetime of disciples. Just not the same disciples. Peace and Love to you!
Who of us knows the heart of God? We do not know when He will return. It seems He is giving us time to get right with Him so why not take advantage of the time we have? Some seem to think they are saved and don't have to worry but, everyone will have to pass thru the fire of judgment are you sure you are ready?
It takes time for the vindication to happen. All in due time, all in due time. Now, would be a good time to learn about the will of God:cheers2:
I would prefer He not crash my party, if I'm going to be perfectly honest... I'm not going to pretend I'm psyched for the apocolypse just because I'm a Christian.
I'd hope not. I'd be pissed if God laid this beauteous bounty before me and couldn't even wait for me to get out of college and actually start living my life and partaking of it before it was all ripped away... I understand that whatever lay beyond is supposed to be much better, but we all should get our chance.
I have actually thought of this before. If he was here now, how many of us would actually believe it was him?
If you have interpreted correctly, then we Christians have a problem (o: But when you are in love, doesn't time go by without you even noticing? So, maybe God has gotten so busy with loving and enjoying this, that He hasn't noticed the passing of thousands of years. So, why not be busy with loving, and not worry about time? We can pick our own interpretations for something, just so we can disprove something; why don't we have anything better to do? Yes, there were ones in history who claimed to predict when Jesus would come back. They were proven wrong. And it seems ones of them were in denial about being proven wrong. I'd say they might have been trying to get status by being the experts . . . like others can be trying to get status as experts by disproving them. And BOTH can be neglecting how they could be enjoying loving. So - - - I guess ones have been so distracted with figuring out the exact time of His coming in history, that they might have not been paying attention to how they could be fulfilled in loving all people. THAT is where the attention needs to be, I'd say (o: Quack quack . . . watch out for *decoy* issues meant to draw us down where we can get blasted full of buskshot by the duck hunter.
Jesus did return .... August 1969 at White Lake, N.Y., and was last seen frolicking naked with three hippie chicks after doing some really bad 'cyd. Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svāhā__________________ Sheryl Soft and tender, tough and hard .... Never touched a razor .... I shall love her always!
Very few. We'd either put him in an asylum, crucify him again, or make him a reality TV star (same as crucifying). As for when he's coming back: Ask Sarah Palin. She knows. He's supposed to pick her up in Wasilla.
It's actually quite self-centered. What really creeps me out are those Jesus-freaks who can't wait for the end just so they can meet Jesus, God will punish all the infidels and all of the "good people" will go to Heaven and all those nasty people will have been weeded out... There's something really chilling about that. Like aren't we supposed to be compassionate or something?
It is said in the bible that christ shall return and when him come he shall come in a new name, and this name shall be dreadful among the heathen. King of Kings, Lords of Lords, Conquering Lion of the Tribe Of Judah. Revelations 5:5 has come to pass, Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia. Jah Rastafari. So why do we expect someone to come called jesus, in a white robe with long hair and a beard? Expand your mind.
there is still a large group of unreached souls mostly found in the third world region. these are people who have never even heard about jesus. it is called the 10/40 window..between 10 and 40 degrees of the equator. it depends on us, the privelaged western society, to share with them. when everyone has had fair warning, then jesus will come. God is such a just man! he will leave no soul untouched.
