so what did you get everyone for christmas? and if you haven't done your shopping yet, what do you plan on getting?

sister-american eagle jeans ($50)
my friend loren-orange slippers, teddy bear, shroom bracelet ($15)
my friend amanda-knitted gloves that turn into mittens ($20)
my friend analise-book on how to be a self-promoting musician ($25)
stepdad-book of monkey pictures (idk, my sister said he likes them) ($20)
grandma-dreamcatcher ($5 -- i had pretty much run out of money)
mom-diamond necklace from kay jewelers ($200)

Fuck buying into this commercial crap.

 

i wouldn't buy people presents if i didn't know they were getting them for me. but the presents i get are usually a wonderful indication of how little people know me. : )

 

I'm not making a whole lot of money these days... so I can't really go out and buy anything expensive, lol..

I actually haven't decided what to buy my parents.. I will probably wait till the last minute, lol... They are hard to shop for.​

Agreed. Let's all buy shit that we don't need to celebrate Jesus! My whole family ditched the whole mandatory gift thing as soon as my youngest cousins learned the truth about Santa several years ago.

 

I bought my boyfriend an mp3 player because his old one broke and some cologne, and for my mum I got a star (you know how you can name a star in the sky and register it and then the star officially has the name you gave to it? Well I got her one of those because she's quite into astronomy). My dad gets a bottle of whiskey, my boyfriend's mum gets a National Geographic's book on Canada because she really wants to go there and his dad gets this birds' feeding thingymaziggy because he likes to feed birds in their garden. Our dogs are getting lots of toys and my friends are getting charity presents from Oxfam Unwrapped. I love buying presents to people, be it christmas or not.

 

i havne't gone shopping and i have no clue what i'm gonna get

i went to the bookstore today and bought books for two of my friends and my dad
i almost don't want to give one of them away, cause it's the alphabet of manliness
it's fucking amazing

Shit I frogot how close it is to christmas I have to start making or buying stuff for my mom and brother

 

I don't exchange with friends or siblings...We just buy for each other, our parents and our children.

-Kevin is getting a CD case that I'm making out of a book...it's going to have themed sections and so far, it looks pretty cool (cost- $0.83 for a felt sheet)
-Both of my aunts are getting beaded necklaces (cost- $2.00 for one small kit of white beads)
-My dad is getting a card that I made with a letter of appreciation to our new found relationship (cost- $0.00)
-My boss's son is getting an "I Spy" bag-hand sewn with a clear vinyl window. Inside is rice and little knick knacks. It has a card of all of the things you need to find in the bag. (cost- $1.99 for rice)
-My boss is getting 2 new sprays and one new wreath for a few of the rooms at the inn (cost- $2.99 for two eucalyptus branches)
-My brother is getting a homemade artist book with canvas sheets to paint on and every few pages will have inspiring quotes/artwork by others (cost- $3.99 for the canvas paper)
-My uncle is getting a homemade quote book with pieces from Zinn and other peace activists, including Bushism's, pieces from the 9/11 commission report, etc. (cost- $0.00)
-My mom is getting a new TV for her room (cost- $60 for my portion, my brother and Kevin are pitching in too)
- My grandparents are getting a framed photo of me and my brother (cost- $2.99 for the frame)
-My mother-in-law is getting a homemade lighthouse calendar/journal (cost- $3.99 for the special paper)

I'm also making tons of cookies/candy bags and cards for everyone.

I have my work cut out for me this week! haha

 

IM so anti hippy. I succumb to the commercialization of xmas and buy presents and I love doing so.
