im under the impression that mild's have less tar, and less nicotine and, say, 12's or 14's have lots more tar?

    why?

wouldnt it be best to get a cigarette of low tar, but high nicotine?

I don't quite understand why you're asking this question.

Is it a matter of you are determined to smoke cigarettes (whether you do currently or not) and want the least harmful ones?

The "best" cigarette to smoke (I thought this was obvious but I've been wrong before) is none at all. If you're going to ask which cigarette is "healthiest," that's like saying you're determined to drink drain cleaner and want to know which one will kill you the lightest.

I found I smoked more lights than reds.
If I remember corrected I consumed the same amount of tar/nicotine no matter which ones I smoked.

Marlboro Red 100's are my usual.

err no one answered my question?

i dont smoke often, but when i do i generally smoke winnie blues. 12's.

but yeh so does anyone know whether more nicotine means more tar?

and if was going to kill myself with draincleaner then yes i would want to know which killed lightest and nicest.

i choose to smoke cigarettes with friends and harm my lungs. so id like to know how i can cut my losses. cutting losses is a concept that you should understand?

so yeh why the hell do they have cigarettes down to 1's and 2's? i mean can you even feel that? i think its lame to smoke as a poser or for the sake of smoking, i smoke to get that nicotine into me!

I think part of the problem here is the numbers your using Bill.... I smoke Marb Reds.... I never heard of the cigs you smoke... I really dont know what the 12, 14 , 1 and 2 mean... My cigs dont have number... If you can find a display for the cigs it will tell you the tar and nicotine levels... but Smoke lights are not safer then smoke full flavor... there still both carcinogenic.....

oh ok, over here every packet has a number of how much nicotine is in the cigarettes. im not sure of the scaling, but lights are like 6's, milds are like 8's and they go up to like 16's. but then theres all the exta light ones, 4, 2, 1. makes no sense to me.

if smoking lights wasnt healthier than smoking heavy cigarettes, why not smoke half of a heavy cigarette, smoke half the amount of cigarette smoke and get the same amount of nicotine?
