Circumcision could Become mandatory

Circumcision would not become "mandatory", but just recommended instead of the medical authorities having a neutral position on it.

i think circumcision should not be mandatory make it an optional and recommended. it also have an advantage on health too.

I heard about this back before my son was born in February. Trading risk of infection now to reduce risk of infection later.

 

The only medical advantage that I can think of comes in HIV prevention. I read a couple of articles about Nigeria that state the infection rate is noticeably lower in circumcised men than uncircumcised. That said I really have no opinion on the subject.

The only health benefit of circumcision is that being snipped prevents a build-up of smegma, which can cause urinary track infections. I've also read recently that although penile cancer is very rare, those who do get it are almost 100% of the time not circumsized. Something to do with the extra tissue being a place where the cells easily multiply. All that being said I once was good friends with an older gentleman who had been a nurse for decades and had seen many circumcisions. The stories he told of children screaming and wailing in pain were sickening. It is very barbaric.

 

I have 2 young sons and none of them are circumcised as their dad isn't. Don't know if i should worry much. Just have to teach them later to properly clean themselves

From a psychological standpoint I've heard of some men being bothered that they no longer have their foreskin. On the otherhand I've also heard of men who are bothered by the fact that they do have it.

I definetly think it should be an option and not mandatory. How can something that personal be mandatory. You have rights. I don't think anyone should be circumcised as a baby. I think once you're grown adults you should make the choice (because you can) I realise that it will probably hurt a hell of alot more, and when it's done when you're a baby atleast you wont remember the pain when you're older but....you should have the choice. Personally I don't have a preference, when they're hard they all look the same lol!
