Yay! I'm finally going to get my very first tattoo tomorrow - the kanji for strength on my right shoulderblade. I am in a little pickle though - I don't know wheather to do it in black, blue, or purple. I want to work around it later, maybe creating a Mandala... any ideas?
Here's the simple option. Get some body paint (removable) and get someone to do the design on your shoulder in each colour and take a picture of them. This way you'll know what looks better. If you can't decide, maybe do it in 3 shades. A tri-colour of your design. Maybe the reason you can't decide between the colours is that you really want all 3. try to see how you can incorporate the 3 colours and the design you want, together. Don't settle though, make sure you get what you want.
yeah i agree, do it black, and if u want to ass color go with either blue or purple (go with the purple, its the only way to go)..haha

I'm going to dissent and say go for something different than everyone else. I would go with blue because I think it would fit better into more tattoos than purple if you decide to get them. Also, you can always tattoo over blue with black if you change you mind, not vice versa. However, you shouldn't get the tattoo with the mentality of getting it covered up. Peace
The mentality is not to get it coverd, but to work around it... I can't afford one big peice so I'm getting the groundwork done bits at a time. And for those of you that randomly pay attention to this thread for whatever reason, I chickend out because I want to be sure of the colour, and I want the money for the kanji to be larger than origionally planned.
