I actually didn't, though I do recall the Beastie Boy's song Paul Revere being the most popular 'rap' tune while I was in Junior High.

I've pretty much been on the Grateful Dead diet since I was 9 years old. My favorite bands between 6 and 9 were Zeppelin and the Who. 'Pop' music was never really a part of my listening.

I don't know if they are considered rap or not but I used to listen to Two Live Crew. The lyrics are really bad but the rhythm is sorta sexy.

    Oh, and Run D' MC

(I just realized the word rhythm has no vowels)

    HA HA HAaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

Rap was EVERYTHING in Junior high

    Run DMC
    Sugar Hill Gang
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five
    Kool Mo Dee
    Curtis Blow

Walkin around with a boom box the size of a Mini Cooper on your shoulder!

I'll still listen to some old-school rap, but none of the gangsta crap of today, except maybe some Busta Rhymes

I still like the Beastie Boys
