I actually didn't, though I do recall the Beastie Boy's song Paul Revere being the most popular 'rap' tune while I was in Junior High.
no rap phase? i went through one in sith grade it was bad, my other little preppy friend called me gdawg and I called her kcool
I've pretty much been on the Grateful Dead diet since I was 9 years old. My favorite bands between 6 and 9 were Zeppelin and the Who. 'Pop' music was never really a part of my listening.
i went through a heavy rap stage, still gotta bunch ah records, i even did the boy band thing around 5th grade, then it was punk rock for middle school, then classic rock as of now.
Dre Dre and snoop dog. I still love old snoop and dre........ Wu tang who I still love. Some other stuff I remember we listened too was Da Brat.....Warren G.....that chick that sang "Im all ruff and stuff with my afro puffs" Snoop was in that song too. Ummmmmm......who else? Nate dogg. I was also a huge Jodeci fan in middle school. And SWV. I really miss the 8th grade.
I never went through a rap stage.. dont like the music enough.. but I was in the gothic thing for years haha.. peace chickens

She's awesome..! but then, I've seen The Rolling Stones and started love rock classic.. (sure, when I was child, I've liked The Beatles.. but I knew nothing about them.. )
I don't know if they are considered rap or not but I used to listen to Two Live Crew. The lyrics are really bad but the rhythm is sorta sexy. Oh, and Run D' MC (I just realized the word rhythm has no vowels)
run dmc fat boys ll cool j beastie boys still to this day and way back when everyone was freestylin on a cardboard box on the corner, everone had a copy of kraftwerk's tour de france. that's what started me on the road to electronica. oh yeah, and i was way into devo back in 1982. as for junior high, well, shit, the most popular shit in our neighborhood was debbie gibson and tiffany. i liked iron maiden.
when i was in hight school it was bubble gum bee bop with sexy little girl voices hip hop would not be invented for another almost 30 years long after my school days were anything but a very mixed memory =^^= .../\...
I've never liked rap. I hate it. I did love the Backstreet Boys, though.... I still might marry Howie.
