Congress approval rating is 12%. That rating is from the very people that elect congress, and those that don't vote. That makes the American people just a bunch of morons. They don't like what their representatives do, yet they continue to vote the same morons back in office, or they sit around on political forums and whine and bitch about how bad the politicians are, but don't get off their ass and go vote for someone to replace them.

The whiners complain about the NSA surveillance, but defend the ones that started it. The republican lead House of Representatives just voted to continue the NSA surveillance, but Obama gets blamed.

House speaker Boehner just blamed Obama for not creating jobs, which is like Lucy blaming Charlie Brown for not kicking the football.

One of America's biggest problems is the cowards that continue to blame others for their own dirty deeds.

People who aren't voting need to do research on the issues, proposed bills that are being debated, and to vote at all levels of government.

If a huge enough block of people do this, it'll completely throw off all the political statisticians who tell "candidates" what's safe to say and not to say publically or what topics to address in legislation and how it's written.

Currently, it seems to me the current gridlock, is created by a couple of factors.

Middle of the road voters, are apathetic about the voting process and therefore have stopped voting, meaning campaigns can't count on their support at all. This means that campaign after campaign is trying to appeal to more single-issue voters, who tend to be more extreme.

So you get this political rhetoric that's really extreme, and legislation that's really extreme, and candidates who are really extreme because they represent the extreme voters left voting in their districts, and not the middle-of-the-road willing to compromise people.

The cycle, is that the more extreme the political rhetoric appears to be, the more disheartened middle of the road voters stop voting.

If the poll asked "How do you rate 'your' elected Senate or House member?", it would present a much different story.

Just look at which party is trying to keep people from voting. The red republican states are passing laws to stop blacks and minorities from voting, because they tend to vote against republicans. It's called gerrymandering, the art of fixed elections. The republican judges in the Supreme Court just overturned part the voting rights act, because they have a 5 to 4 majority. This is a blatant conspiracy to destroy democracy by the fascist right wingers. The cons propaganda has succeeded in destroying the American people's faith in its own government.

"Never underestimate the power of a large group of stupid people."

This is how the Nazi's took over Germany.

Unless you're out to lunch, you know it's fact, not propaganda. But then that's what Goebbels said when the opposition was trying to warn the German people about the Nazi's. At least Einstein was smart enough to understand.

I would hardly think that requiring identification will keep anyone from voting.

My Grandfather was a civil servant in the Jersey City, NJ. of Mayor Frank Hague. We know all about fraudulent voting and stolen elections. Please read: Mysteries of my Father by Thomas Fleming for the story of Jersey City.

It wouldn't keep anyone from voting at all. That is, unless that person cannot be bothered to get up off their ass and get an ID.

I've had to show ID every time I've voted. I don't understand why that isn't a requirement everywhere. In fact I thought it already was.

In other states are they just supposed to believe you are who you say you are without any proof? I don't get it
