I was reading the magic mushrooms growers guide on erowid.com, and I was curious whether anyone had used the the terrarium made of a 2 liter bottle with any success. It seems that there would be some kind of disadvantage to such a low-tech terrarium, but the guide doesn't mention any, besides the size constraints. Also, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the specifics of using the reservoir method of adding moisture. Where exactly am I supposed to inject the water? How much water should I inject?

ok here's my two bits, the terrarium out of a coke bottle works allright, for like one of those stupid pf cakes, screw the 2l. get a plastic tub, dump a bunch of perlite in it, put an airstone in a cup of peroxided water, stuff pollyfill or tyvek in the holes (drill some holes).

the resevoir deal is if you make a pf cake before you fill in the jar with verm. you poke a hole in the substrate with a pen or somthing to make the cake hollow, then jam some toothpicks across the top and fill more substrate in over the hollow then layer on the verm. sterilize, inncolate as normal but when you go to birth the cakes into your terrarium take a steril syring with a steril needle full of steril water and simply stick it into the top of the upside down cake to fill the hollow you made inside, is fun I done it a few times, makes for more fruiting.
