Counting Change for Beer

Their were times where me and my cousin scrapped the house for change to buy a 1/8th of bud. How we got the forty is beyond me.

Did the same for beer many times.
"fuck payday isn't tell tomorrow and i need four dollars to get the 6pack"

I scraped together all my cash today, went to the bar, and got booted immediately. Talk about getting pissed.

But I've done that many a time. The worst was when it was me, 4 alcoholics, and only enough cash for 3 40s.

 

grab a coulple mickeys or some old english

i always use what i can from tips to buy beer. if i get under $7 ill just settle for some simpler times beer which is $4 a six pack :tongue:

 

$4 a six pack? By gawd. Here the cheapest 6 pack is $8 bucks, and it's shit.

I wouldn't spend anything less than $12 on a six pack, it's bound to be shit otherwise. Craft 6 packs start at $12.75. You can get 8 hemp beer though for $11.

 

Jesus I can get six stella artois for 9.00 and that's top shelf..

Last night I opted for 12 milwaukee best premium for 5.49

Stella's really not that great. I'm talking small batch, craft beer; only water, yeast, hops, malted barley. You pay more for them.

Here 6 Stella tall boys is about $15. I used to drink Milwaukee Best Ice and Premium tall boys. Both are $10.50 for 6. Six Bud tall boys are $12. 12 packs of coke sized cans of Milwaukee are about $12-$15.

 

I do that with scratch offs tickets. I will get rid of all my change and buy a couple 2 dollars tickets

 

I remember when I was homeless at 17 and the times I had to scrounge up money for smokes. Once I counted out 10 dollars in pennies to get myself a couple packs. 10 in pennies is alot of damn pocket change.

 

haha its a cheap beer thats 6.2%...its from a small independent/natural grocery store so thats part of the reason why its so damn cheap. once i start saving, ill be getting good beer more often that's for sure!

I throw my change in a large vase all year then just before christmas I take it to a machine in the mall that counts it and they give me the value of it on a gift card good for any store in the mall...i then buy gifts for friends and family members and the rest goes on tim horton gift cards for me to use for coffee :leaving:

 

This was six years ago and the price has gone up $1.25 to $2.00 depending where you live.

The beer is shit in quality to.

Milwaukee ice, Keystone (not light), Ice house all nasty fucking beers but we drank em daily and they were cheap.

 

ouch. good craft beers start around 7 for a sixer in these parts

 

I guess it's all relative to income. Wages are less in the US, so goods are cheaper.

 

I have scrounged change many times for various things...booze, weed, coke....

My favorite one was when I was selling coke and some guy offered me $12 in change and his wedding band for a kilo...

Me being a bitch...I took his wedding band and the gold cross hanging around his neck I made about $400 on both at the jewelry store

 

must have been a really nice wedding band to even be in the ballpark for a kilo.

 

That's why I took the 18 carat gold cross and chain he had around his neck
