Geeez ever check out the people that get raped and murdered using this thing, ya just can't invite strangers in your home...

I think youre buying into the media hype.
I kinda think its funny that the news spreads this BS and they the NEWS want you to join their webpage, create a profile and sell things on their classifieds.. sounds like a marketing strategy to me..
And if your referring to the bumdass that got killed selling a RING. then the dumbass was just a dumbass. you dont sell $1000 rings on CL, you sell them at the jewelers..

 

I know of people who have used it without any problems. I think with the net people in general sometimes forget to be a little cautious. Too much personal information that is out there at times.

I on another thread did a search on goggle about the topic and the thread came up.........so who is reading......no control over who is.

 

i have gotten lots of stuff off craigslist! tvs, baby stroller, couch, baby toys... i <3 it- you just gotta be smart about shit. if something seems shady, just dont do it.

eh if you are stupid about it, then that is your problem. But I have even met very nice people that are great friends off of the platonic section. So, it can be good. Just being smart about it is the key. The key really to any website or forum, even this one.

Craigslist is actually pretty damn awesome.

 

i hate to say it but its people like you that actually make this world an unfriendlier place. murders, rapes, and violence via graigslist occur like the siting of a new comet. I.E. THEY ARE RARE EVENTS, VIOLENCE, MURDER AND RAPE, THAT OCCUR VIA GRAIGSLIST.

and craigslist has turned into a ghost town because people like you have swallowed hook, line and sinker the narrow sensationalism the media exploits you readers with.

the fact is, your chances of getting murdered or raped are much higher by picking up someone from a bar than meeting someone via the craigslist.

i mean, because the media makes front page news a plane, bus or train crash you trust your virtual tomato can of soup going down the highway at 60 or more mph more than the aforementioned modes of transportation mentioned?

the fact is you have a much higher chance of being painfully, permanently disabled or killed in a car mode of transport than in plane, train or bus transport.

What the media needs to do to be of best public servicer is to supply daily statistics and graphic photos of the amount of people maimed, raped or murdered via real time contact vs craigslist or other personals contact.

it also must do the same for car crashes compared to mass transit.

remember, the famous, tugging at your psych fear and anger, tragic events inordinately covered in the media are miniscule and overshadowed by the mountain of daily, monthly and yearly totals of tragic and deadly events.

 

Craigslist sucks here...its just full of perves looking for free blow jobs

thats the truth, you got it. i am not so sure i agree with you about the selling a diamond ring worth a grand on the craigslist and more than likely getting knocked off every time. i bet more people get killed or injured on the street if their wearing their best jewelry, than the amount of people getting killed or injured selling via craigslist.
