Where is the line drawn between creeperville and (friendly) compliments? Discuss and provide examples.. How do you know when you've entered creeperville territory?
the difference between being a creeper and being flirty is your level of attractiveness to the other person.
eg1) Morning Katie, thats a nice new hairstyle. COMPLIMENTARY eg2)oooh yum yum little girl. your hair feels so soft. would you like to try my candies.... CREEPERISH Sorry I'm prob not helping.. OK seriously, I think this relates to PR's comments in another thread. I think PR is a good guy and I would never consider him remotely "creeperish". What I DO think is extremely creepy however is attention seeking/ attention whoring. People who go out of their way to fish for, and attract compliments, as part of some points game. Often as part of a strategy to insult perceived rivals etc. Often managing to extract compliments/ "points" from unwitting givers. I really don't get all this stuff trying to seek "validation" by lobbying, insincere smarm/charm and shit. Such lame people need to get a life, IMO. In general terms ,with Wastebook, and social networking its getting more and more pronounced. ------------------------------------------------ How do I know when I've entered creeperville territory? Well I just take any compliments/charming I receive in the context of that person's overall behaviour and psychology. I give people the benefit of the doubt for a while. But I can identify creepy people by just asking "do I trust this person?"
I knew I've come across one or two pretty creepy types at HF (mentioning no names..) but PR certainly isn't one of them.. hehe
Not sure if we're all that friendly.. :-/ I mean the Great RT Meetup of 2000 and whatever, was actually cancelled on the grounds of "serious risk of multiple homicides" ) Murderers *do* tend to be creepy tho..
