Heylo, I'm wondering if there is anybody who had their dreads latched/crocheted and have had them for awhile. I let a fellow hair dresser experiment on me and I have my whole head of dreads Latched/Crocheted. I've had them for almost 2 months but I'm just curious if anyone knows how they start to turnout with time. I hope the weaved texture goes away but I'm not sure. I specilize in alternative hair and dreads but this is a new tecnique for me and I'm open for any knowledge on this subject. :D

i crocheted my dreads, bu toinly after back combing them so i could tighten them up. they turned out looking good, i only have a couple spots where there is weaving texture and its working out good, but i left it alone and let it get messy and loopy.

I have photo's in my album on here. I think you can see the weaved look if you look for it. And I specilize in dreadlocking becuase that is what I love and do most of and have studied the most :p. and for hax... Do you keep crocheting ur roots?

One problem with this technique is that you may get told all your dreads will be ruined and fall out.

nope, havent touched my roots, i let my pillow do the work, actually what i do is i went to walmart and bought a yard of wool and a yard of felt and i just lay them across my pillow. i havent touched my roots or my hair in months, just letting it go.

Thank you hax, you should put some pictures up. I would love to see your dreads and how they are turning out. :)

    QFT lol :D

i think they look gorgeous (and youre beautiful). i can sorta see what you mean by woven and i dont really know if that will go away or not. i think you should be happy with them though, they suit you really well.

you want like close ups of my dreads? i can see how they would fall out just because they arent as knotted as they would be if back combed if we could draw pictures on here i could demonstrate it better, its the mattedness that makes them grow into dreads

Any pix I'm just trying to get another perspective on this technique cuz I've got to wait till I find out what mine do. lol
Well I don't think they would fall out they are similar to micro's in a way .. But I think becuase they aren't as knotted they can get more loops.

you are prettyyyyyyy*swoon*gorgeous^__^I love your dreads and the skull bead. I can't realli see the weave texture in the pics but over time the hair will mould together I'd say. I think all dread textures are different. I saw a girl last week w 7 year old dreads. She went the natural route but the texture of her dreads look like tight crimping...?
anyway-beautiul, and they look so neat!

yeah yours do look good, like i said if you just let your pillow do the work, go to wally world and buy a yard of wool fabric and roll around at night they will work themselves out

mine are just over 5 months old, but like i said i didnt just crochet them, i backcombed and took the loose hairs and crocheted them into the backcombed dread. just to make it look tighter and lock quicker and they have worked out nicely

Thank you Luxie. I might just swoon myself asfter seeing your beautiful face and pretty dreads ;)...
<br> With the texture I do like with the crocheting is my overly natural curly hair isn't showing through the dreads like some peoples do. ;)
