Has anyone else heard of him? Does anyone else like him? Most of my friends either haven't heard about him or they hate him and I don't know why. I love "Cold Water", "Eskimo", and "Silent Night". -Kate
I love Damien Rice!! I don't know of too many people that know of him, but his music is so beautiful. My favorite songs are "Eskimo", "I Remember", and "Volcano". I hear that he was at Bonnaroo this year and I was so dissapointed that I could not attend! Well maybe another time. What about you, did you have the chance to see him preform?

I didnt hear of him, until they played his song cannonball on The OC. Thats the only song I've heard, and I think its such a great song.
I love that video I can't think of the name of the song but it's black and white and very moving...There is this girl in there that is pretty cute and natrual looking that sings duet w/ him-she looks like she could be the cute sister of Eddie Vedder-her hair is Mousy and long..But Damien is really poetic-a true artist I do believe...
I absolutely love Damien Rice. He has such a poetic way about him and his songs are so different. I've been listening to 'O' for forever and a day, and I think that I need to buy another copy, it's so scratched!! The bad thing about living in North Dakota is that I have to order almost anything that is not totally mainstream off of the internet. livingwater, you prob mean the video for volcano. is it just like in a studio? if so, that's it. if not, then it's cannonball, which is a way artsy video, kinda strange, like whatever he's singing about, there'll be a pic of it on the screen. Can't really explain it, you have to see it to understand what I mean. btw, the girl that sings with him is lisa hannigan (sp?), and I love her voice! If you can't tell, its nice to see that some other people like Damien and not just myself.
Yeh He's Pretty Good ,He hail's From Ireland and we see him alot there..(im stateside at the moment but returning home soonish)...he's pretty well known here had no idea he's grown popular stateside ,that's kinda cool ,but i hope he remain's a relative unknown..but if you think damien Rice is Good ,you seriously need to Check out David Kitt..another irish singer/songwriter and may i say it..BETTER than Damien Rice..anyways ,check him out...www.davidkitt.com ,you can listen to his songs online ,check out the "Big Romance" album first!.
DharmaBum, thanx for recommending David Kitt. I've been listening to some of the stuff on the site, and it's great!! now I must scrape up the extra money since it costs more cuz it's an import. but its gonna be worth it!!
I don't know a lot about him, but when I was in Thailand on vacation recently, a dude I met loves Damien Rice, so he would play Damien Rice songs on his guitar.
damien rice is absolutely amazing! and i'm totally in love w/ lisa hannigan, the other singer. i was at bonnaroo this year but i missed him . i just recently got the b-sides album.....so good.
i like damien rice, he makes some of the most beautiful songs, and his live shows are amazing! I hope he makes a new album soon.
