This has been bugging me lately. If i am correct, whether it be catholic or protestand, even eastern orthodox, if you are a sinner, you will go to hell. You will be punished for eternity, regardless of how minor or major your sin might be. Why? I do think that Hitler, Stalin, Cheney, and other vile people of the like do deserve retribution of their actions, one way or another, be it karmic rebirth or a nice stay in "hell", but dont these individual's deserve redemption after they paid their debt? According to the christian faith in general, non christians are pretty much fucked, lest they accept christ. But not everyone gets their jollies from christ, yet despite their good character and deeds, why must they be sent to hell? And eternally? What kind of loving god would do that? tl;dr why does hell/punishment have to be eternal? wouldnt a loving god eventually accept the wicked into salvation? btw, the "accepting jesus into your heart" card aint gonna work, im refering to those "sinners" who have already died.
God will try his damn best to help that individual soul, but God cannot make a person do something, they will end up self-destructing on their own. No hell, just nothingness. Ceasing to Exist. This is in EXTREME cases though, and I mean EXTREME. lol
Just remember, you are free to accept or reject any set of beliefs. I suggest you look into eastern religions, which have an entirely different way of looking at "sin". As a result of thinking for myself starting at a very early age, I rejected all western religions.
It is sort of funny that people actually believe in eternal damnation, isnt it? Actually no wait, it's not funny at all. It's scary to think of all the children forced to hear this kind of threat and become so frightened of pain and suffering that they fear to even think for themselves. It's almost child abuse, if you ask me. I am thankful that though I went to a Christian school for 7 years during my childhood, even the preist during a sermon would say that hell is psychological and actually does not exist. They really did encourage having an open mind and never bothered when it was obvious that a child was drifting away from the religion, so long as you paid attention and did your homework. God Bless -

Hell is only mentioned in the new testament, Jews don't believe in it which I find interesting since christians and jews share most beliefs besides the divinty of christ. I had a priest once try to explain hell to me, and he told me God loved me so much he put me in hell to teach me a lesson. Made no sense, If this god is so forgiving, then why would you literay be punished forever for a mistake.
Interesting use of language.. I would suppose your meaning is that since "damn" means to "go to hell", that God will actually go to hell in an attempt to save one lost soul.
Theres nothing you can do. Your either going to Heavin or not. It was predestined long before you were born. If your name's not writen in the Lambs book of life your not going to Heavin. Just because you "ask the Lord to come into your heart" it dont mean He will. He's NOT here to save everyone, Hes only here to save His chosen fyew. Your either in or your not. Theirs NO work you can do that will make you pleasing in His sight, even your faith wont save you if your names not in the Lambs book of life. Faith is a "work" you preform and none of your works will get you to Heavin. He gives no reason for this. If your name is in the Lambs book of life and your not saved yet,he will save you when He's ready. He'l give you a new heart and youl be saved. If your name aint in the Lambs book of life, you just aint gettin in. He dose leave a small piece of hope tho, for people who aint in the Lambs book of life. If you aint in it you do have the option of beggin Him to let you in and He mite but theres no garentees. Its worth it tho. I urge everyone to get down on their knees and start beggin if ya already aint, just in case your not in the Lambs book of life.

Exactly; and if the love you take is such a problem for the divine memory than the somewhat rest of mankind can cover for that time alloted. Everyone's private Ego is born in Heaven and dies in Heaven. Hell is for the shared acts of MAN.
