Possibly the greatest actor who ever lived,

and known well for his extreme dedication to method acting.

His ability to make decisions, lose himself in the moment, and be so unrecognizable from film to film makes this guy really stand out to me.

    Any other thoughts?

I definitely agree that he can be completely unrecognizable in different movies (and then when you see him in real life). So many actors become famous playing a relatively narrow type of character. The range he has is incredible.

For sure, DDL is incredible! I read that in My Left Foot he demanded to be wheeled around off-camera and had to be lifted in and out of his chair. In Gangs of New York, he got sick during filming because he refused to wear any more clothing than Bill the Butcher wore, and obviously the weather they were filming in was cold and damp. Good call on Danny Day-Lewis.

If I remember correctly, he actually spent some time in prison to prepare for this movie. For his role in The Boxer, he actually trained and competed in some proper boxing fights.

It's always such entertainment to see that man acting in a movie. Whenever a Daniel Day Lewis movie shows up on T.V. during the few times I watch T.V., I always watch it, no matter what else is on.

His depiction of John Proctor in Arthur Miller’s The Crucible was fantastic [IMG]

I’ve always been intrigued by the 17th century Salem witch trials and DDL didn’t disappoint :)
