what does this album make you think of? does it bring back memories? have you never heard of it? do you like it? did it change you? do you think it's cliche? I'm listening to it now, and I still love it. even after all these years... I started listenening to it when I wasd about 16. I have to say, it changed the way I look at music. I felt it literally "Struck a chord" with me, as i'm sure many others have. It may be super popular with the kids these days, but i really know and love every note of this damn album...
dont fucking get me started on this album...its the only album aside from bob marley legend ive had to buy almost ten times because its been stolen alot... i think of it as a coming of age album...
awesome. glad to hear you appreciate it, too. i totally agree with the coming-of-age thing. it come to me during a transition period in my life... its meaning will never be replaced in my mind.
Yeah, it reminds me of being 15 or so. I can't really listen to it anymore. It's not really quality Pink Floyd, and hearing all the tracks a million times has kind of killed it for me.
Don't hate me for it, but I just don't like the album. Maybe it's because I was forced to listen to it almost constantly for nearly a week while my friends practically had an orgasm everytime they put it on, but I just dont enjoy listening to it.
Good album, but I've heard it way too many times. It doesn't do much for me anymore. Animals would probably be my favorite.
Wow an 18yr old kid saying his friends listen to it too much, I am 38 and I heard it over 20 years ago, that tells ya something about the album!
The only album i really like by pink floyd > the piper at the gates of dawn It was syd barrett who makes pink floyd work for me.
I think the fact that young people are still listening to it at all, is a testament to the quality of the album, there are literally thousands and thousands of other records that have disappeared into obscurity, from that era, that few still remember. Pink floyd is really meant to be an experience that a person needs to see them live to have, none of their recordings do justice to the levels they took the concert going experience to.
convoluted exotic alien caves. that is what psychodelic soundscapes have always conjured for me, and this is something i have always and continue to, see as a good thing. i really think 'the floyed' went to hell in a hand basket, as far as what i thought was good about them, when they came out with that neonazi 'wall' crap. but that hasn't dimmed my feelings of positiveness about 'dark side of the moon'. =^^= .../\...
Did you know it syncs with the Wizard of Oz!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's crazy. Oh man, I'm so baked right now.
Not quality. Commercialised and formulized in order to appease the listeners. Want quality Floyd? Try The Piper, Ummagumma, A Momentary Lapse, The Division Bell, Meddle, Animals, The Final Cut. All of those quality Floyd.
