I didn't know which forum to put this in so I put it here..

Anyways, an odd thought has been occuring to me about life and death. When we're first concieved, the womb is our home. It's the only place we know. We don't breath or eat, we have a handy tube that gives us everything we need. Then, 9 months later, we're plunged into light, our home is gone, into a world where the air is essential for life, where things 10 times bigger than you are all crowd around and make noise to your once silent hearing ears. If this happened to you right now, as you're reading this, how would you react to it?

Now people will be thinking "But babies won't be concious of anything that's happening straight away" And alright, I accept that. But that's leading onto my main point. What if something similiar, or more profound, happens to us in death? Because in a way, birth from the womb is death. Will we be faced with something so confusing it will take us years to grasp the simplest part of it?

Just wondering what people thought about this..

that's what I'd call an ill-posed question, because any concrete answer is impossible.

I think what you're pretty much talking about is reincarnation.

Karmic retribution and all that junk.

I think that you should take one for the team and kill yourself... that's the only way you'll ever get an answer for your question.

You can tell us about your results afterwards.

Death is life. There is no death only a change of scenery. Padma Sambhava the equivalent to Jesus in Buddhism taught what happens after death it is call The Tibetan Book of the Dead or Bardo Thodol. It teaches what happens after death and it is some crazy shit i recommend reading it.

i think you probably just started smoking pot and you think that this makes you sound deep...

my answer is that everyone has thought about that, but at least in my opinion, i'm pretty sure you die and it's over

Of course I am. The scene I used there is just an example, something to give people an idea of what I'm talking about

Same goes for everything anyone else here says. Welcome to random thoughts.

Sarcasm, cynicism, laughing at your expense, shooting down every seemingly intelligent thing you say....is all part of your initiation.

Don't make the kid think that he said something "intelligent" now.

You might build a false sense of confidence within him.
