    abolished? no.

    Why remove that freedom?

However, i think we could do a better job administering it.

man, death penalty should stop. what gives you the fucking right to take someone elses life? plus, life in jail is worse than death i think. 70 years of zero freedom and anal rapage. thats worse

its like your telling them not to kill, but then you go and kill. you have to follow your own laws

Well said. And MadcapSyd, something tells me Roger Waters wouldn't approve of it either.

The death penalty should be not only legal, but manditory. Every person who kills should be killed. The executioners should be killed. The executioners executioners should be killed. And their executioners, and the executioners of them as well. Let the killing not stop until we think of a better idea than the death penalty.

Many on death row probably wouldn't be in general population.

I think that waiting for years to die, having an exact date on your death would be the worst. Tookie should not have been killed. People can change.

because time changes everytrhing. and i like what that guy said about executioners executioners and shit. thats a good point. but the government thinks they are exceptions to all the laws and can do whatever the hell they want.

my question is serious: Why should we remove the freedom of the government to execute people?

And if you say they have no right to do that, i ask, "why do they have the right to lock someone up in jail forever?"

edit: to anyone who says it is unconstitutional...from the 5th amendment:

"[size=+1] No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

the constitution itself says that life can be deprived with due process of the law.

Well first of all, the consititution give you the right to take someone elses life.

    \

Question. If I kidnap you and forcibly lock you in a small room for several years....is that legal? No. Im not following the law. But can the government do it? YES. Law don't apply to punishments handed out in the criminal justice system other than those rights expressed in the constitution.

Doesn't matter if people can change, he was being killed for the crime he already did.

... death penalty. just a matter after the event, whatever you punish the criminal, something can't resume.
