    Capital punishment is so...bleh o.o

Its very contradictory (let alone immorale). Why would you kill someone for killing someone? o_O

How is death justifiable by death? Lol.

It does not deter murder. In fact, the states that have abolished the DP or have not used it in a long time, have the lowest murder rates, MA (abolished) included.

Plus you may put an innocent person to death. and how can that be reversed? More people are exonerated than a lot of people realize.

For a long time i didnt care about it till back in 2005 when the State of California kill Tookie, which was bullshit, if anything he should have had a shortier sentance for all the stuff he did to make things right.

I'm against the death penalty. There might be some merit, however, in replacing it with "life at hard labor". There are quite a few people who aren't afraid to die, but very damned few that want to spend the rest of their lives pounding on rocks with a big damned sledgehammer all day long.

Is this a trick question? we all know how un-pc it is to demand the death penalty.
what if you make a mistake blah blah blah hang the wrong person blah blah blah

too much excitement for one night I'm off to bed

No one has the right to take the life of another.

It doesn't matter who's that person is.

By killing someone, even if you think that he deserves death, YOU are becoming a murderer

I have an interesting point that we should hang people for crimes where there is no question of their guilt. Serious crimes such that the act could point toward the fact that they could have murdered someone if they wanted to.
Dont hang anyone for murder because too often the wrong people die for a murder they didnt commit
Ok so someone is caught in possession of a knife and cannot explain its presence - they dont need it for work, they arent carrying it home, they belong in a gang and were caught in posession of a large amount ofd drugs. If they are carrying a gun or knife - hang them.

If they committ a murder then put them in an insane asylum for life where scientists can experiment on their brains in trying to find a cure for criminal behaviour

The death penalty- an obtrusive act of violence chosen to prove to violent peolpe not to be violent. It saddens me the amount of people we have locked up in prison but good. Why should we give someone who is a murderer, child molester, or otherwise horrible criminal an easy way out of taking responsibility for their actions. I favor the old "you stole my fruit therefore I saw off your hand and bandage it for you" punishment, but still only to some extent. I don't believe in taking control in other peoples lives, but when it's better for the whole of a community to make others safer maybe it is a better way. Maybe if someone just spends enough time in prison they'll begin to think, and then again maybe not. Humans are so complex it's hard to determine a proper way to punish someone for their malicious crimes. If we were to say cut off the penis of a child molester who is not to say this person would not one hundred percent change his ways, realize his faults, and strive to correct them. But then he is nothing but a man with no way to reproduce like he was given the natural right to do. I believe this is the same for life. So I guess then I am against the death penalty. Sorry for ranting so much. ;)
