My mum's good friend died of cancer yesterday morning. I remember her from my childhood as being a really positive, smiley, solid person.
My wife is having a hard time dealing with the possibility that her nan may not be around much longer as she was taken into hospital with a suspected stroke today.
All this death around has finally released the sadness in me from the death of my very good friend, Graham, who died about 4 years ago.

I was on pretty heavy meds at the time which suppressed my feelings and didn't really feel the loss at the time. He was living in Spain with his girlfriend who he had met while we were both working in Disneyland Paris so hte distance also removed me. He had been like a mentor to me, while returning the huge amount of respect that I gave him. It was most definitely the strongest and most reliable platonic relationship I've ever had. His death is a huge loss to the world:(

I'd just like to say I don't believe in speaking better of anyone just because they're dead. This is truth^^

I was wondering if anyone else wanted to remember someone here. Recent or long-past.

my great grandmother. she died before christmas. she was such a cool lady and i never got to see that. we liked the same things, had the same inclinations and whatnot. i never knew her in life, and my grandmother was relating stories of her to me. before i had not felt it, but i did afterthat. the loss to the world was tremendous. also, my great grandfather, inexplicably called papa deke by me and my sister. i never knew he was a hardcore stoner way back when. he would grow massive amounts of bud hidden between sunflowers and corn on the southside of chicago in the 70s. he was always so cool, and he died when i was very young so i never cared as much as i do now. i have one of his old polyester disco shirts and it makes me laugh to think of old papa deke wearing it. ill dig up some pics to scan later.
