Because most definitions I receive are...

    • Educated
    • Well mannered
    • Confident
    • Hard working
    • Independent
I feel as if true elitists are the ones we should put in charge... mostly because I don't want Joe Six pack running America!

The people accused of Elitism usually stand up for people's rights, they go against the norm and risk their own reputation to do something they feel is right and just in the world.

Most "elitists" are charged with being "snobs", which I really don't have a problem with. It's really just people's shallow egos that cannot accept that someone is more qualified to be the leader of a nation than they are.

Worst off, people accuse people of being elitist for doing the right thing... Recycling... not eating meat... riding a bicycle instead of a car... donating... All qualities of a supposed "elitist". And I'll be damned if reading Albert Huxley qualifies me as being "elitist".

Are the masses really this ignorant? Can we no longer except enlightenment as a good thing?

those who have manipulated "the masses" into misusing the word elitist are the objective elitists

though anyone deriding "the masses" -- or worse, "the sheep" -- are clearly the subjective elitists

The elite are often accused of having a lot of education but not the brains to use it.
