Anyone see this movie? I really think Rob Zombie is the best horror director today. His movies have a feeling of real terror and horror unlike most modern horror films. Whats great about his movies are that they give credit and pay homage to the great horror flicks like Texas Chainsaw and Last House on the left, but give a new twist to it all.

Anyone else get a feeling of the sixties and seventies in the movie? With the soundtrack, and the family calling the police, "pigs".

I also felt like it was very Charles Manson like, with the line about doing the devil's buisness and the movie ranch house that it was filmed at.

The movie felt like the 1960's.

haha I was just about to make a post about this movie. I saw it a few weeks ago I really like it, first Rob Zombie movie Ive seen. I actually didnt know it was a "morden" film. They had me fooled. I was very bloody but it wa amazing. I was told right before watching it "if you have any morals at all, you wouldnt like the movie" He was did right on that one.I just wonder why Rob put an acter in the movie that looked almost twin like to him? hmm.

Oh and the sound track is great my fav is David Essex-Rock on.Def a fitted track for the movie.

yeah def a cool movie. I saw the first Zombie film which i liked, but i actually liked this one a lil better. There were some funny lines to. The one about how their makin fun of that girls sagging tits. The dudes like "they looked like two raccoons fightin to get out of a gunny sack" had me laughin for a while.

Its not really gruesome, just really really weird and twisted like the first film. Its a different kind of horror film (which kicks ass because most horror movies blow ass)

I haven't seen it yet but I want to. I loved House of 1000 Corpses and I'm sure this one is just as good. Rob Zombie is a seriously twisted fucker. Haha, I love it!

i like it and i think the main reason is how they made it by making you forget who the bad guys are and making the cops look bad or that might just be me cheering for the bad guys again another reason might be because i got raised on movies like this

you are 13!!!! you are still being raised

and do you have any clue what you were trying to say? cause you gave like 80 options
anyways, this movie does not glorify the "bad guys" in anyway tht I noticed

i don't think the fact that i'm still being raised or whatever matters whan you see something like nightmare on elm street when your 3 and well my life makes me feel older sorry, i know it doesn't what i'm saying is the way it was made..its hard to explain but i will try
not the whole movie just some parts and not make them look "good" but look better then the cops. that might not make sense but i don't know maybe i'm just cheering for the bad guys again without knowing it..maybe i should watch it again it was kind of late and sme parts i hated (for example when the guy came back with the other guys skin oh well

    Try:

"The movie The Devil's Rejects was crap. The acting was pathetic."

I actually found it to be very entertaining.

    Pretty awesome.

I liked it better than House Of 1000 Corpses, even though it was a good movie too.

I was dissapointed in the House of 1000 Corpses, so didnt expect much from The Devils Rejects. But I did notice a few things about it that even fans of it havent seemed to realize. I can see why some folks like it, but it just isnt my preferred type of horror.

First off, what i didnt like:
The acting was so bad, it made me want to watch porn to see someone show some acting skill.
The lighting was so bad, they showed a womans tits in natural sunlight and the scene still looked terrible.
The budget obviously went to scour the aging actors home for the guy from Hills Have Eyes and 70s sitcom castoffs.
The best scene in the movie was the girl in the shower, I also wanted soap after watching this movie, and I wasnt even in it.

    What I did like:
Even the "good guys" had evil aspects, and justice got its own justice.
The hired killers did an efficient job, a rarity in movie assassins.
The housekeeping arrival, but obviously stemming from a band checking out of their room.

Now the thing that noone Ive talked saw in it, until I mention it...

Its a total take off of Easy Rider.

The hooker scene is so similar its almost obvious, to the point of the hooker sitting on top of the bookcase and being filmed from below.
The ending scene of the music/road, and the (anti)heroes being met with shotgun
The music for transitions is patterned after the Easy Rider themes.
There was no need to show the hitmen with a harley, but there it is.
The scenes of the brother being kicked in the stomach same as Jack Nicholson scene
Easy Rider set the beatings of their heroes in Texas, site of the Devils Rejects.
Both movies feature leads with Captain in their names
The confrontation between the two lead guys in both flicks are very similar, and stem from the Hopper/Brother wanting to leave.
The Brother/Hopper character is motivated by the secret stash, guns/money.

    Need I go on?

It is a little too similar for me to think that its a complete coincidence, but either way, it seems like the "Anti-Easy Rider".

hey lay off the kid, the movie does a very good job of making you love the main charecters, then be disgusted by them. in one scene you hate them for how brutal and sadistic they are, then when freebird plays over the end you feel for them as a family being torn apart.

oh and if you havent cought on, zombies movies are just homages to 70s exploitation flicks, often bringing comedy too them.

example, the girl with the mask on her face running in the street getting hit by the truck, TCM anyone?(other then the truck hitting her)
