Hey all, I am looking for a good dill pickle recipe. I just got some cucumbers from my mother-in-law's garden. She has a recipe for sweet pickles but not for dill. Help anyone?
Here is my Great Grandma's recipe: Dill Pickles 12 cups water 4 cups vinegar 1 cup pickling salt Bring all ingredients to a boil pour over cucumbers that you have prepared and placed in jars while still boiling. Then seal right away. Pickled Beets Cook beets. Skin and cut them or slice them which every you prefer (if you use baby beets just skin them). Place the beets in jars and cover with the brine that follows: 2 cups sugar 3 cups vinegar 4 cups water 1/2 tsp salt pickling spice Boil brine and pour over beets when still boiling. Seal and let a few weeks. Corn Relish 2 cups vinegar 1 tbsp dry mustard 1 tbsp celerey seeds 1 tbsp salt 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar 1 small green pepper cut into small pieces (1/2") 1 small red pepper cut into small pieces (1/2") 1 large onion diced 4 cups cooked or canne corn drained Place all ingredients except corn in a blenderand process until vegtables as the size you want. Pour into a 3 quart sauce pan, add corn, cook slowly for 20 minutes over medium heat. seal in sterilized jars. I thought I would through the last to in for good measure. And I have made them all many many times.
